- In short, Despy loved the opening match between CM Punk and Dustin Rhodes. Calling it a "masterclass." He was once again surprised by them putting a marquee match-up for the opener.
- Despy knows both Punk/Dustin even tho he's not familiar with American wrestling at all. Despy praised Dustin's head scissors for how deeply he bends his knees, how tight he squeezes Punk's head, and how he's utilizing his large physique
- When Despy saw the spot where Punk avoids Dustin's shoulder tackle, he said that it is a nice idea that he hadn't think of to implement when facing a bigger opponent. He even said "Ah, this is educational"
-Despy suggested a match between CM Punk and Yoshinobu Kanemaru would be interesting since Punk has showcased a more methodical, well-crafted wrestling style in this match. Despy himself also stated that he's interested in facing Punk
- Despy remembers the fact Punk once competed in UFC and the quote in his post-match interview had deeply struck him - "The true failure in life is not trying at all"
- Despy was heavily impressed by this spot where Dustin twists Punk's left arm and slams him down on the apron. He says "I've seen ZSJ does the same thing in the ring but never thought about doing it off the apron to add more damage"
- Despy marked out when he saw this sunset filp bomb spot from Dustin, like "How can a guy with this size can do this??? Big guys like him typically become hesitant about using those athletic moves and omit them from their arsenals, but he did that with ease. That's great"

"This is GOOD SHIT!!!"
- El Desperado on CM Punk vs Dustin Rhodes
"I would pay money just to watch this match. And this is the opener right??? I'd go straight back home if I had to follow this up in the 2nd match!! This is indeed a match that the crowd would chant like this (THIS IS AWESOME)"
- El Desperado on Punk vs Dustin
Despy after the match:
- "This wasn't a title match???"
- "I was in awe throughout the match"
- "I just witnessed a wonderful thing"
- "They both are masters"
- "I'm blown away. I'd be satisfied if the show ended at this point. My mental calorie has already been burnt out"
Despy on the BCC entrance
- "Wheeler Yuta seems to have got a new gear finally. He had always showed up wearing something like a training outfit so I was concerned about that"
- "Hearing Wild Things in the entrance always makes me think a cage would explode shortly after that"
Despy on Wheeler Yuta
- In spite of the changes surrounding him since joinning BCC, Yuta hasn't changed much about his wrestling style
- Yuta tends to use logical, classical moves (most of which any wrestler can use) very carefully and precisely. Despy says that is his cup of tea
Despy on Dante, Brock, and Moriarty
- Didn't know any of them and thought they were just local jobbers
- But very impressed with Dante's freakish athleticism (especially his sense of balance)
- Praised how Moriarty shits from one move to another very quickly
Despy on the Forbidden Door annoucement
- "Oh wait, is that guy (Tony Khan) the CEO of AEW?? I've always thought that guy comes wearing some kind of pajamas"
- They were apparently not informed about the AEWxNJPW show before the commentary taping and the promos doesn't seem to be translated by that time as well. Despy hasn't elaborated about his thoughts on the joint show as of now
Despy on Wardlow vs Butcher
- He says Wardlow making the entrance without his theme reminded him that Young Lions in NJPW used to have no entrance theme
- After Wardlow squashing Butcher with 4 Powerbombs, Despy says "Wow, Wardlow treated him like a trash"
Despy on KOR vs Jungle Boy
- Despy remembers Kyle O'Reilly once asked Minoru Suzuki for a sparring before a match when he worked in New Japan. He described it as a "crazy behavior"
- So he knows O'Reilly is well-versed in jiujitsu
- Despy describes KOR as a logical fighter but sometimes he pulls out wild moves from out of nowhere that it's scary to face him
- It gave him goose bumps when KOR kicked the left leg of Jungle Boy on the top turnbukcle
- The diving knee drop on his side stomach was frightening
Desperado's first impression on HOOK:
- Despe: Um..... What's up with his hair???
- Murata: It feels like Gen Z doesn't it?
- Despe: .... Yeah...
Despe: I think there was a character in Tekken that has a similar hairstyle. But not this wild. GOD DAMN, really??? This totally looks like a headhead. I'm impressed
Desperado's first impression on Danhausen:
- Despy: Is that a wrestler???
Despy on Andrade vs Darby
- Despy really liked Darby's presence in his entrace
- He says Andrade's strength was absolutely insane even back when he was thin during his La Sombra days
- So seeing Andrade being pumped up now makes him only wonder how strong he is
Despy after seeing the Sting's dive off the balcony spot and Darby's german suplex on the outside bump: “Are these guys out of their f******' mind??"
-Desperado on Darby: Oh man, this dude is just being dragged. He literally looks like a real corpse that is gonna be put inside a casket
-Despy's last line: "I'm tired"
