I was genuinely excited for Hangman vs Okada. I really hope they don't stick Cole in the match too. If they have Okada in a triple threat or four way I will burn this house to the ground

And now for good idea bad idea
Good idea: bringing in stars from NJPW to promote your crossover event. Bad idea: Bringing in Will Ospreay at all. Ever.
He now beats Jay Lethal for person with most skeletons in the closet they've ignored while hiring a person.

Looks like it’s be White/Page now. If you put your ear up, you can hear the sounds of the Danielson/Okada bookers licking their lips.

Normally, yes, but Zack Sabre Jr. has called out Bryan as someone he wants to face to determine the true master of technical wrestling. In Zack fashion, he also called BCC "Blackpool Country Club" and suggest Bryan is busy golfing with them.

At the most charitable someone could be, he has exceedingly poor judgment in who he goes to bat for, and even that would be giving him the benefit of the doubt. I know he's apologized for some of it, which is more than Lethal's done to my knowledge, but obviously, words alone aren't especially convincing atonement, particularly from a guy who absolutely could do things to help people if he chose to, being arguably the top UK wrestler.

Yeah, those qualifiers are a poor smokescreen and Ishii is the only notable one among the four. Honma and Nobu are vets that act as mostly fall guys these days, and Connors is a junior that just graduated from Young Lion. Ishii or Shingo was my pick for the four way, so I’m fine with this.

So this might deserve it's own thread, but is anyone else getting the impression that Andrade was originally slotted to do G1 but CMLL put the kibosh on it? Ever since coming back from the honeymoon he's been extra-directionless even though he's still been featured as a performer and he was over like rover when he did a few spots over the years in NJPW as La Sombra.
I don't think his departure from CMLL was the most amicable and tensions between CMLL and the rest of Los Ingobernables have gone nuclear in the time since

CMLL fired Dragon Lee for the gall of being in the Battle of Los Angeles as Pentagon and Fenix were.
Heck they terminated their relationship with ROH because talent were going to do an indy show in Mexico that winded up getting canceled
CMLL really needs to realize that they are just a blip on the wrestling radar and nobody pays attention to them and that they need others. Except for Cubsfan and half the time he's ragging on them.

So CMLL is ok if a talent also works AAA (a direct competitor, right?) but not if they work other promotions in different countries? I would think they would care more about their competition in their own country more. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know

Is this true? I was always under the impression CMLL's model was super geared toward casuals

Is this true? I was always under the impression CMLL's model was super geared toward casuals It is, but they pay their talent like crap. The model has been to send everyone on well-paying tours in Japan and the States for years to make up for it, which is why their connections with NJPW and ROH (who were able to secure visas for talent to work indy dates) are so important

To be clear, this whole CMLL/NJPW situation comes down to the value of the Los Ingobernables name. The day the partnership ends, New Japan cannot use that anymore, and it’s been a moneymaker for a long time. That has more value than an occasional CMLL tour or a big name gaijin coming in for a few dates. They ultimately need to go with the best business decision, and I can see how this is it. That doesn’t even go into the loyalty aspect of Japanese business culture, which is also very important in situations like this.
