Well, in a decision that was in no way inspired by the old video of NewLegacy going through Extreme Warfare Revenge, I decided to give the game a try as well. Just like those videos, I'm using a mod of WCW in 1998! I don't have a lot of familiarity with this game, so I'm sure I'm going to make a mess of things here and there, but I think this'll be fun to try. Feel free to post here if you have any interest in checking this out.

May or may not do anything with this today, but here's the feuds I'm starting with:
Bret Hart Vs. Sting: WCW didn't use Bret well at all, so I figure why not have him feud with Sting over the WCW Championship? I'm going with the idea that Bret is challenging Sting in a "You owe me" sort of way due to Starrcade 1997's main event. I plan on doing something with Sting that doesn't involve the title, but we'll get to that when we get there.... (86 overness)
Hollywood Hogan Vs. Ric Flair: Since they're two of the top guys in the company, why not feud them? Hogan's creative control is going to make doing this feud a pain, but I'll see what I can do. (100 overness)
Harlem Heat Vs. The Steiner Brothers: I was tempted to have the Steiners face the Outsiders, but.... I didn't really want to. So I'll have them feud with Harlem Heat over the tag titles instead. (56 overness)
Raven Vs. Diamond Dallas Page: These two usually request matches with each other after a while, so I decided to have them feud over DDP's United States championship. (91 overness)
Faces of Fear Vs. Public Enemy: I really want to push Meng, and to a lesser extent the Barbarian, so I'm giving them this tag feud. Since Public Enemy are close enough on the card to the Faces of Fear, I decided to put them in their way. (58 overness)
Curt Hennig Vs. Roddy Piper: Not sure why I did this feud, I just kinda picked two high card guys off the top of my mind that I wanted to see feud. (86 overness)
Psychosis Vs. Ultimo Dragon: The Cruiserweight championship feud, I decided to use Psychosis because he didn't get that many shots in WCW in real life, so I wanted to give him a shot here, plus he and Ultimo have a history. (38 overness)
Mortis & Wrath Vs. Alex Wright & Disco Inferno: I put Wright & Disco into a tag team and here they're fighting Mortis and Wrath. This is another feud where I'm not really sure why I did it, I just wanted to give the lesser teams a shot. (62 overness)

Always a fan of EWR games, I usually do WCW around this time or ECW 96 when I play.

Decided to do one show now, the first WCW Saturday Night:
#1: Hype video with the Faces of Fear (48% overall) #2: La Parka def. Psychosis (Overall: 57%, Crowd Reaction: 45%, Match Quality: 69%) #3: The Dancing Fool def. The Armstrongs (Overall: 44%, Crowd Reaction 43%, Match Quality: 46%. Scott Armstrong didn't sell well, the jerk.) #4: Hyper video about the Hogan/Flair feud (93% overall) #5: Scott Norton def. Roadblock (Overall: 40%, Crowd Reaction: 41%, Match Quality: 40%. Roadblock also didn't well well, the jerk.)
Overall Rating: 53%
Not a great start, but this is the first show and it's the lowest show, not going to get too worried just yet.
Show got a 0.56 rating, which was better than the 0.03 that Shotgun Saturday Night got. And Scott Armstrong is telling me he might be getting pushed too hard. After how he went through the last match, I'm inclined to agree.
WWF released a number of people, specifically: Brooklyn Brawler, Sniper, Honky Tonk Man, Scott Taylor, Christian Cage, Shawn Stasiak, Tiger Ali Singh, Scott Borders, Steve Bradley, Adam Copeland, and Matt Hardy.

Well, we start off today with an incident. Namely, Louie Spicolli admits he has a drug problem, so I sent him to rehab, which oddly didn't cost anything. Hopefully things work out for him. And the WWF released Jose Estrada Jr., Miguel Perez, Scott Putski, Recon, 8-Ball, and Luna Vachon, and they got a 5.46 for Sunday Night Heat. Now, time for Nitro! {Spoiler}#1: Ric Flair arrives backstage (89% overall) #2: Rey Mysterio Jr. def. Juventud Guerrera (62% overall rating, 53% crowd reaction, 72% match quality) #3: Harlem Heat interview, verbal attack on the Steiners (69% overall and Stevie Ray gained overness) #4: Meng def. Mortis (47% overall rating, 32% crowd reaction, 62% match quality) #5: Hype video for the Bret/Sting feud (88% overall) #6: Diamond Dallas Page def. Perry Saturn (76% overall rating, 79% crowd reaction, 72% match quality, DDP wins through botched interference from Raven, then fights him and Saturn off. Raven is losing overness from his gimmick.) #7: The Outsiders def. Public Enemy (76% overall rating, 81% crowd reaction, 67% match quality. I changed Public Enemy's gimmick to Street Fighter. It got positive responses, but they're losing overness because of it. Their feud isn't really about them anyway, so I don't care too much.) #8: Steiner Brothers respond to Harlem Heat with an interview of their own. (77% overall) #9: Ultimo Dragon Vs. Psychosis for the Cruiserweight Championship ends in a draw, Dragon retains (60% overall rating, 41% crowd reaction, 80% match quality. After the last match, this one was seen as a letdown. Note to self: Book the cruiserweights before the Outsiders.) #10: Ric Flair def. Randy Savage (86% overall rating, 93% crowd reaction, 71% match quality. Savage's gimmick is costing him overness. Overall rating: 74%. Not bad for the first Nitro, I say. Got a 6.03, better than Raw's 5.87, but not by much. Roddy Piper wants to work with Scott Hall, and Rocco Rock wants a push, but I probably won't give him one. Jim Neidhart blasted us over the radio, so he gets 3 months off. Thunder time! {Spoiler}#1: Roddy Piper arrives at the building (85% overall) #2: Chris Jericho def. Alex Wright (74% overall rating, 73% crowd reaction, 75% match quality #3: Faces of Fear def. Los Villanos (48% match rating, 39% crowd reaction, 57% match quality, Faces of Fear beat the Villanos down afterward) #4: Curt Hennig promo on Roddy Piper (76% overall) #5: Goldberg def. Van Hammer (62% overall rating, 58% crowd reaction, 66% match quality) #6: Kidman def. La Parka and Chavo Guerrero Jr. (61% overall rating, 49% crowd reaction, 74% match quality, and it looks like La Parka dragged things down. #7: Curt Hennig calls out Roddy Piper, who answers and starts a brawl to the back (81% overall) Overall rating: 71%, with a 2.10 rating. Alex Wright and Chris Jericho didn't gel, and Kevin Nash and Lex Luger requested a match between them, so I guess I'll do that.

Second edition of WCW Saturday Night, coming right up!
#1: Disco Inferno def. Yuji Nagata (62% overall rating, 50% crowd reaction, 74% match quality) #2: Hype video on the Steiner Brothers (75% overall) #3: Chris Jericho does a self-promotion interview (93% overall, and Jericho gained overness) #4: Chris Jericho def. Silver King (58% overall rating, 36% crowd reaction, 81% match quality) #5: Ultimo Dragon def. Kidman to retain the Cruiserweight Championship (75% overall rating, 54% crowd reaction, 97% match quality, Cruiserweight Championship gained image)
Overall Rating: 73% Show rating: 0.55 Vs. 0.01 for Shotgun Saturday Night
Sting wants a match with Randy Savage, Scott Hall is asking for a match with Rick Steiner, so on Nitro I'll do those.

Fit Finlay, Perry Saturn, and Steven Regal in a four way, #1 contender match for the Television Championship (74% overall rating, 67% crowd reaction, 81% match quality) #8: Scott Hall def. Rick Steiner (80% overall rating, 81% crowd reaction, 80% match quality) #9 Kevin Nash def. Lex Luger (81% overall rating, 83% crowd reaction, 79% match quality, Luger attacks Nash afterwards) #10: Hollywood Hogan def. Chris Benoit (77% overall rating, 85% crowd reaction, 60% match quality) #11: Bret Hart and Sting have a confrontation in the back, no fighting breaks out (95% overall) Overall rating: 85% Show rating: 6.04 Vs. 5.62 for Monday Night Raw Brian Adams and Goldberg worked well together, and Psychosis wants a push. He's in a feud, so why not?

Overall Rating: 82% Show Buy Rate: 1.34, better than WWF's first PPV, so there's that.
Not too bad for the first PPV, though I was worried the last couple of matches would have dropped it. Gonna need to work on Sid if I want him to be one of the top guys like I plan to. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

In other news, Goldberg wants another match with Brian Adams, Chris Benoit wants a push, and Davey Boy Smith is interested in a match with Perry Saturn, seems like a lot of guys like the idea of working with him, might parlay that into a push. Don't forget to toss me some ideas if you'd like me to use them.

As far as the new company popping out, that will happen fairly often, especially since there are only three active promotions at the start. As for what it means for you, probably not much. If it's any level but Global, it won't affect WCW at all. The most it will mean is that some talent will hold out for more money if they're working for the new company when you try to hire them.
