Halloween 3 for a lot of people. There was no michael myers so it was shit. Although there are a strong minority like myself who thinks it's a great flick. Not calling you out, but Halloween 3 is in the running for my least favorite movie because whenever it's mentioned, it's immediately followed by someone going "you know people didn't like it because it didn't have Micheal Myers but it's actually really go-" I KNOW, EVERYONE KNOWS! It's the "did you know the male Seahorse is the one that gives birth" of horror movie opinions.

The one that comes right to mind here is Jon Lovitz on NewsRadio. The show took a massive drop after Phil Hartman was killed; it was basically made for him in the first place. And perhaps for the best it should've ended after that first episode of season 4, but Lovitz was......not lousy. His intentions for being there (to honor one of his best friends) were noble and the show itself was still funny (and it sorta holds up). Alas, NewsRadio wasn't....as funny after Phil, and even back then you knew you weren't watching the show that could have been. The other one that comes to mind is Josh Meyers replacing Topher Grace on That 70's Show, and yeah Randy still f***ing sucks. It’s all Andy Dick’s fault.

As for the actual topic. I Honestly feel that if the Silent Hill: Homecoming and Downpour were given different names and were simply "inspired" by the original series, they would have gone down as generally good to great horror experiences that were actual survival horror games in a time when the genre was action focused and slowly making its way to hide and seek gameplay.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is another game that falls in the "X isn't Y" category but unlike the others, it actually needs to be called Silent Hill. I get that people don't like it because it's so radically different but I love it because of that reason and how it played with my expectations and prior knowledge of the series to make what might be my favorite game in the series.

Most times that opinion would not hold up but it won't stop people from trying.

I used to watch SNL reruns thinking Kevin Neelon, and Collin Quinn were better Weekend Update hosts than Norm MacDonald...
Then I got older, and realized I was freaking stupid.

People in the 90's: I don't like the new Metallica album because they cut their hair.

I find this to be really stupid. I crack up at times when someone gets interested in a movie through a trailer and then it's announced who directed it and all of a sudden the interest dies. For example, I saw this in comments for Pain & Gain and 13 Hours, because they were Michael Bay films. I am of the belief that Michael Bay gets a lot of flack for the Transformers films. Sure, I have read some negative reviews about Bad Boys II (I know he directed the first one as well, but it was his film directorial debut and the Bay-isms were far from a thing), Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, etc., but none were the vitriol that the Transformers movies got (yet, they're very successful). It's like someone not liking a person because he/she is friends with a person that person 1 doesn't like. I find the whole "guilty by association" thing to be really stupid.
If you want to talk about how fans can be divisive, look at the Saints Row fanbase and see how divisive it is. Everyone praises the first two a lot, but when talking 3 and 4, some shit on them, though The Third is still relatively popular. Yes, it was pretty absurd, but even the second one was absurd. As for IV, well, let me tell you what I think. I can talk about the flaws Saints Row IV has, whether it's the science fiction direction, the pandering to the first couple of games (like bringing back dead characters in a virtual simulation), the fact that it became all cartoony (I know people say the same about The Third, but not to the degree of IV), and that it really moved away from its original theme. But really, I would be lying my ass off if I said that I don't like the game. As much as I can acknowledge all of IV's issues, I still enjoy the game regardless.

BH90210: Fans of the show who were geeked for the return absolutely did not want to see the actors playing versions of their real life selves. Everyone involved should have known that it was a terrible idea
