Street Fighter for me. There's a lot to love about it, but the controls are like 20 years out of date for basically no reason beyond not wanting to update and it seems like they actively try to make the games not accessible for newcomers. Which was kinda the whole point of SF5, with the easier frame linking in combos and adding more comeback mechanics. I love Third Strike to death, but that was definitely more a “git gud, scrub” game in comparison. I’m of two minds about it- on one hand I want the FGC to be bigger and that means it needs more casual friendly games, and I know SF has a typically higher learning curve on average, but I also don’t mind hitting those complex combo inputs because you can train your muscle memory and it gets easier. Smash is fun and all, but I wouldn’t want move execution that simple in SF6.

Dwarf Fortress is fun to learn about, especially its bizarre patch notes, but I have no real drive to ever play it.

The Silent Hill series. Visuals and mood and plotting are incredible but egads those controls. I am actually interested in trying them out, but the prices online are nuts. And no, I don't want to get the Silent Hill HD Collection for PS3. I suppose the other option is to watch the walkthroughs on YouTube.

I have the HD Collection, and have never encountered any of the glitches or issues people always talk about. Do you have a PC? You can get Silent Hill 2 on there for sure, maybe the other games as well.
