I'm not getting the complaint that it went long. The AEW YouTube cut is seven minutes, and that's with the entrances trimmed off. I thought it moved at a good pace.

I watched it again and I really enjoyed it more during my second watch. I dislike wrestling weddings, but I thought it was fine, on second watch I was able to enjoy it more.
1 Kip and Penelope's vows were funny. Father James Mitchell played well off of them. The eyes to eyes to chest bit was so heelish.
2 Miro playing into the crowd, not just going with his script, and Chuckie can be seen for a second putting on the handcuff. The What Is Love part was the best part.
3 Penelope selling the cake bit. I didn't notice, but she really sold being upset really well. She really was a beautiful bride who's day was ruined.
Of course, what would take this feud out of this world was if Statlander was ready to come back, and join Chuckie and OC to feud with Ford. Gentleman's Club with an Alien, and maybe Swamp Monster could come back too.

I got Father James Mitchell in AEW, and Kip Sabian looking like a snack in that suit. No complaints here. You know, I don't usually really notice Kip's looks a lot, exactly, though I do like the guy's work. Here, he did definitely look the best he has yet.

The fact that the wedding came unglued because Miro got caught up playing sing-a-long with the fans to a lame-ass 90's song, I couldn't stop laughing at that wacky shit.

Amusingly, on youtube, it has more views than anything else last night except for KENTA appearing. Some of it is that Miro and Orange are very popular, granted, but still. I remember being in line for the New Years show at BAR wrestling ringing in 2020 (lot of bad omens there) and my friend was amazed/appalled at how high of a rating the Lana wedding did on RAW. He’s a bit of a wrestling “purist”, specially with NJPW, and I just brought up “hey, it’s wrestling man”. People love that shit or weddings, I dunno. It’s a spectacle in or out of wrestling. Pomp and circumstance. Makes sense. As for this one, I thought it was fine. *shrug* not terrible. Not great. I actually kept thinking “this is written well but the execution is off.”. At least we got the kayfabe line and info on Kips big dick.

I just love the idea that Miro has now taken part in so many wrestling weddings that he's become genre savvy about them.

Genre savvy Miro was far and away the best thing about this wedding. And the random singalong to "What is Love?"

Miro in general has really pulled together a good character out of all of this. The start was goofy and childish, but the big best man speech here coalesced a lot of things to make him legitimately compelling and scary. Him staring down Kip with rage after Kip accidentally hit him really put the punctuation on what his promo built up - he's egotistical and self-centered as well as huge and powerful, to the point where even having him on your side is terrifying.

Yeah, by the end of the segment, it made me really excited about the future with these two, that Kip has got to know that the partnership with Miro, while beneficial to him, is also going to ultimately make him pay a heavy toll.

If I were booking the rest of this feud I’d have Miro vs OC at Revolution and have Kip cost Miro the match accidentally. That way OC can get a much needed win and this can set Miro off, get him into beast mode and have him take out everyone, starting with Kip.

Why split Miro from a guy who can help him pitch ideas and a guy who can take losses for him and in general do fun antics. Why split an act that has finally hit its stride and its mesh? Why?

To be completely honest, I don’t even care. I just want Best Friends to come out on top of this feud and having Kip cost Miro the expected OC match would be a good way for OC to get a win and not make Miro look weak. ...and I listen to a bunch of different podcasts that review Dynamite and I can say the overwhelming majority of people are just tired of this whole thing and want to see Miro be what he was in the Battle Royale a couple months back. No one seems to really care about Kip one way or the other. Maybe outside of this feud it could work better, I don’t know. But they already kinda planted the seed with Kip accidentally hitting Miro during the wedding segment and Miro staring daggers at him. So that’s where I could see it going.

I didn't like it in general (like most in ring things in wrestling that aren't matches) but I will give it props for these things:
- I loved the constant references to them expecting certain things at a wrestling wedding.
- I loved James Mitchell as well as their reaction to him. When he would say "in the name of the Dark Lord" and shit like that Kip and Penelope would have a puzzled look because they aren't devil worshippers but then shrug it off and go with it anyway. It was subtle and well done.
- Penelope Ford was in fact the most absolutely stunning, drop dead gorgeous bride I've ever seen.

Weird segment. Lots of strong parts, especially Miro's character work but they didn't really make a satisfying whole.
One thing I appreciate with Miro is for better or worse he always has a unique voice and doesn't break character, he even managed that in wwe which is quite the achievement. Can never say he's interchangeable which even the best in the mic can be.

After watching this, I'm finally starting to anticipate where the Kip/Miro thing goes. So points for that.
Also, Chuck has to be the smartest wrestler in the World.
