She's in as Ike and Tina, but not as a solo artist Ahh, that makes sense. Still, I hope she gets in solo. Yeah it makes sense...if it was true that Phil Spector was influential in inductions. Think about it.

I know the RNR HoF is basically bullshit like the WWE one, but the fact that a lot of these bands are not in before bands they obviously influenced is the dumbest thing. It's a bit more credible as it has the physical location, but yeah. And our memories about Phil Spector's acts show us that the same kind of pettiness/bias exists there.

....so did Alice In Chains piss somebody off or??? like at this pace Limp Bizkit will get in before them....also I was almost positive Oasis would have been givin a nod this year but I suppose Noel shooting down the rock hall when they tried to tell him Oasis will re-unite for the induction is probably why they arent pulling that trigger.

The RNR Hall of Fame has actual voting procedures and guidelines to follow along with a fan vote and physical location. So by those merits, it's a lot more legit than WWE's Hall of Fame, which doesn't have a physical location and whose only real criteria is "Vince McMahon likes you."

Maybe we can talk Vince into putting Judas Priest in.

If Jim Steinman can't get nominated, then Todd Rundgren should get in so that Bat Out Of Hell can be represented in some way.

There are a ton of people that should be in that aren't.
Besides the obvious personal taste of the people in charge... I think some of it is they don't want to have a ton of the big names going in at once...

We, as a species, deserve a Jay and the Foos jam session. Call it a make good on, let’s say, the past five years.

Don't get me started. It's getting to the level of the Grammy's wanting the band in attendance, then leaving Layne out of the In Memoriam video the ceremony after he passed. They're cool with Jerry coming by and having the band's stuff in an exhibit, but can't be bothered to actually acknowledge them? Whatever.

They’ve already got the big two (Nirvana, Pearl Jam) in, so they’ve filled their grunge quota. I wouldn’t expect AIC or Soundgarden anytime soon if ever.

Just reminds me of Pearl Jam's Bassist shirt having a list of people that should be in that aren't... a few like NiN have gotten in since... but... still...

Five inductees a year is really impractical.

Five inductees a year is really impractical. Like I said I think that plays a lot into it. If they load up the inductees with locks... then... the lesser knowns are never getting in at 5... and every year more people become eligible...

Just looked that up and yeah, there’s zero chance a good chunk of those bands get in. Real shame too, as they’ve been a massive influence to a lot of the stuff that has been inducted.
