Under 13 minutes of screen time for the infected the entire season. That sucks, man. The characters are the focus, not the monsters.

The Last of Us was a very satisfying tv show and probably the very best video game adaptation ever made
The things it added only made the story better, the emotion rawer, and the things it took away weren't missed imo, or were changed to be better.
The one and only criticism I had was them giving the Left Behind ending away early in the series so the emotion wasn't there as much as it could have been in that episode.
The show wasn't about the Infected. They were just the driving force for what the show was really about, which was the emotion and actions the survivors have left. Much like the original Night of the Living Dead wasn't about the zombies, it was about the actions of the survivors in that farm house. This is that, but written large on the scale of the whole world, rather than a single farm house.
Genuinely just blown away but how much I loved that show.

Under 13 minutes of screen time for the infected the entire season. That sucks, man. I’m gonna agree with you in the sense that I’d like to have seen a bit more of the infected. They were some memorable parts of the game and you wouldn’t think it Did I think it took away from the show? Not really but would have been cool to see a bit more of them at least Also damn I really thought the finale speed through. Like giraffe then fireflies then ending and it did lose a bit because you’re not partaking in the actions Having said that. I really enjoyed the season a lot more than I thought I was going to when I started so a very satisfying adaptation so looking forward to next season

And like I said before, anytime the infected showed up people died or things got seriously f***ed up. Sure, you could showed parts of Ellie/Joel journey in where they take out some infected along the way but that would have lessened the threat. If this was a Deadspace TV show where the monsters are as important as the characters than it would be a diff story

I'm happy enough with what they were able to do.

They were a big threat which for me is more meaningful than seeing them every other episode With the way the ratings went for this season, can see them getting another bump in money and they would have chance to do more if they want to

and remember the locations too through the series ... first half was in temperate climate, where the cordyceps thrived, second half joel and elle were in colder climate, cordycep no likee ... as in the map of the USA in the start titles

{Spoiler}I'll assume that the majority of season 2 will be based on stuff only hinted at in the game, with Abby killing Joel in the final episode.

Maybe they start the season with Ellie already chasing after Abby and then we get episodes showing everything that has happened
Will be interesting to see how they go about it considering you got flashbacks for both Abby and Ellie along with current events

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I thought the final episode was well done. They did a good job of setting up Joel's actions and showing how morally gray (at best) they were. Killing all of those people to save one life is both understandable and hypocritical in equal measures and I thought that came across.
I'm glad the scene with giraffes was included. For some reason, I thought that was very early in the game and had been skipped in the show, so I was happy to see it. It's pretty iconic.

Ranin Wilson from the Office had some interesting things to say Oh, heh. I saw some talk about that on my timeline but I didn't realize he was complaining about David's backstory. Oh well.

After a second viewing, I liked the finale quite a bit more than I did, initially. Because it realily wasn't about any sort of conflict, or lack there of, within Joel, It’s about what his actions mean for Ellie. She obviously can’t know the full extent of what Joel did. But she’s smart enough to know that it wasn’t pretty. And that he lied to her about it. How she handles everything, and how she’ll feel about the only father she’s ever had, will be fascinating to see.
As for Rainn Wilson's issues, I understand that it’s frustrating to feel like a certain group is under attack, but I don’t think that’s what this was. I took it more as a parable about people that cloak themselves in the armor of righteousness. And those people come in all shapes and sizes. And they’re the very ones who would thrive in a world where people are this desperate for any semblance of order.
On the whole, I loved this first season. It hit me like few movies or TV shows ever have. The look, the acting, and the writing all of it worked for me. Can’t wait for season 2.

David fully admitted that he used the religion as a crutch to control people as he doesn't care. The man was a damn sociopath and pedophile. It wasn't that a religious group is being hit with a certain persecution as he could believed in anything. It was all a facade to take advantage of desperate people who really did look for meaning in a higher power
