Pretty much what the title says. Most Collector's Editions suck, tend to not be worth their often $100 plus price tags, and more often than not come with a cheaply made bland statue, but what are the CE that stand out to you for their surprising quality or uniqueness? Starting it off, my main catalyst for this thread was thinking how wild it is that Valve now has something of a reputation for being untrustworthy with their CEs after the Fallout 76 tote bag kerfuffle when last generation they banged out three of the best Collector's Editions maybe ever. The first of course being the Fallout 4: Pip Boy Edition. I doubt anyone actually used it in game for more then two seconds, and the build is nothing special, but for $120 at launch this was a rare CE in that it wasn't crazy expensive while also being pretty damn cool. The game sucked but this was honestly genius and an easy buy. Doom Eternal's Collector's Edition cost me $200, I thought the game was a downgrade to Doom 2016 in almost every way, and I had anxiety attacks from having to leave the house at the start of Covid to pick it up at Walmart, and none of that matters, because I have this and it's awesome.

I never got it, but each time I came close to buying the Bioshock 2 and RDR 2 special editions. I'll see the Bioshock 2 posters every once in a while and think about buying them and getting them framed.

I actually prefer the other end of the scale, when you could get cheap CEs that are now worth a lot more. They weren't much more than a mini cd, art cards, steelbook etc so didn't cost much.
I really liked the box and Gameboy steelbook for Link's awakening but it was overpriced.
