Ok so the current laptop I'm using is almost 10 years old, and quite frankly its time for a new one. Now I don't wanna go all out and spend a shitload of money for a top of line machine. I'm looking for something that could play current games, but I don't need them be all maxed graphically and such. The only musts I have is a 17'3 display, and a graphics card. I've been looking around, but I thought I'd ask you guys for any suggestions.

Ten years? Gees, how'd you keep it running so long? My computer is only like three years old and already the Driver Device is all screwed up and I can't play Star Trek Online on it anymore.

I’ve got a 2009 ASUS laptop with a GPU from Best Buy that I put an SSD in and upgraded to Windows 10 because I had a spare key. Also survived a pop spill, I just had to put in a new keyboard. Doesn’t work great, but it is usable. Though forget playing any recent games

It can still play modern games that aren't that beefy or anything, but anything higher end I don't even try. That's why I wanna get something that can play the modern games at an acceptable level, but not break the bank.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I figured it would be better to just ask here rather than make a separate 'laptop help' thread.
Does anyone know why my macbook keeps shutting down without warning whenever the battery reaches about 50-60%? And if there's a do-it-yourself way to fix it? It's only about three years old, so it can't need replacing already, can it? I googled around and saw other people asking the same question, but no definitive answers for it.
