Hangman Page saved the Bucks from FTR to allow them to make it to their title match. Kenny came out, too, but well after Page, and if it had been up to him, Matt would have been Pillman-ized and either the match would be off or they'd have surely lost it, never winning the tag belts.
Kenny celebrated with the Bucks, with the Bucks being too preoccupied being champs to ever really stop to think, gee, we literally have these titles because of Page. Maybe we should say thanks, or something. Still, I get that currently, the Good Bros and Kenny are jerking them around and they've also probably gotten exhausted trying to figure out Page, who managed to get them to stop being shitbags to Brandon, but has been elusive when people try to make overtures toward him.

it is kinda interesting though how in the earliest stages Hangman was so depressed that he fell for the dark order propaganda during their more cultish days and filled out an application to join them. then when he got his head on a bit better the withdrew the application only now to find the only people who seem to have his back with no ulterior motive is...the dark order

I'm literally picturing a shot where the Bullet Club is beating down the Bucks, Hangman heads down the ramp, leading the Dark Order as the cavalry, clearing the ring, then in the middle of the ring, Page and Bucks stare each other down, then a big hug.

The guy with issues is not always the bad guy
He's also pretty funny. That helps.

It's been suggested in other threads that one of the possible long-term plans was to set up a feud between Brodie and Page for the soul of the Dark Order. Unfortunately, real life had other plans. I get the sense that the eventual plan was to have Page win that feud and take over as the new Exalted One of a more face-aligned Dark Order, but Brodie's death changed things up. Let's face it: it would've been about impossible to have the Dark Order continue being heels after Brodie died.

The Dark Order would have to sacrifice a kitten on TV to get booed at this point.
I've thought about it, and the Page/Omega dynamic is technically a swerve, I think. What makes it a good one is that the story was leading you one way, but left the breadcrumbs so that the outcome made sense.

Hell, if Brodie never died, it would've been impossible to keep Silver, Reynolds, and maybe 10 and/or 5 as heels due to how likable they were becoming thanks to their BTE antics. (5 and 10 are a bit more of a grey area)

Hangman's too sympathetic, Omega is too good as a heel, and the Bucks are too smug and smarmy to really feel sorry for them. That's how all this happened, and I'm super happy it did.

Maybe it's just the last vestiges of kayfabe, or something, but there's this weird thing in wrestling fandom where people want to see awesome heels turn face, and it doesn't always work that way. Kenny Omega seems like a genuinely nice and thoughtful wrestling artiste in real life, but his whole character and style is full on top heel. I just don't buy him as a face. Same thing with the Bucks. Cody is one of the rare exceptions to this.

The early part of his heel turn, especially on commentary was great. Hangman cared about his old and new friends, Mox had the increasing weight of being champion not just for himself but for his family, aew and fans during a dark time. Kenny only cared about personal glory in an arrogant way.
I think Don and the Bullet club watered that down for a while but the last couple of weeks has reinforced that (too good to prepare for matches properly and no rush to help the Bucks).

I think they intended for Hangman to go heel, but the audience cheered the drinking & they switched gears. He was one of the most over people when crowds were still filling arenas. The Bucks get babyface pops for their moves & run ins, but their characters aren’t all that likeable. Omega can easily switch between face & heel depending on what they need him to be.
I think AEW’s eventual “flair/sting” rivalry will be Page & MJF.
