Him on commentary opens up the possibility of multiple turns a night just by who he cheers for in the match. I think we all know why he's all elite. Turns are like his crack and this is the best chance to get his fix multiple times a night I literally just posted the exact same thing 🤣

I love that some indie dude is gonna be like ten matches into his career and is going to be asked to go over his backstory with the Big Show so he hits it on commentary.

Why?
I thought he was a WWE lifer.

Far from a favorite of mine although he is a good brawler when motivated (see world title feud with Sheamus) but this is a big statement of intent from both Khan and Show and will have titan towers scrambling for legends deals for other “retired” alumni such as Cena and Punk.

Why? I thought he was a WWE lifer. JR is.. JR, but one thing I wholeheartedly agree on is that everything boils down to cash and creative. My guess is TK beat Vince on one of those.

Punk would probably never happen, but I could see the right amount of cash swaying Cena for a one off program to put someone over big.

Does this mean the Big Show gif and pics thread has to meander over to the AEW section?!?!?

Despite years of jadedness and cynicism, pro-wrestling hasn't lost its capacity to blow my tiny, tiny mind.

I just saw this on Facebook before coming here.
I follow both Wrestlezone (actual news site) and Kayfabe News (satire page). I was sure that was a Kayfabe News post until I did a double take at the title.
Good for him getting a job where he won't have to wear himself down physically while also getting to be entertaining.

I'm very excited for Show on commentary, I LOVED Show on commentary when he did it and always thought "Why isn't he doing this more? He's getting me so interested in a match I didn't give a shit about", he has a great enthusiasm and puts talent over real well. Who knows if he does anything more than that, but you can see the likes on the posts, you can see the buzz it's created. Big Show is one of the wrewstlers casuals know, he's beyond a wrestling bubble, well beyond it. Him being in AEW in any capacity is a big deal, especially when so many thought of him as a sure fire lifer in WWE for the rest of his days doing god knows what. If he has a couple more matches left in him? I would love to see what that entailed. AEW loves doing teams, they love doing Trios, hell they love doing Atomicos... Show is someone who can be heavily protectec in ring these days. Knowing Marko loves him as much as he does, a Show/Marko tag match would be something I'd love to see at least once, echoing the sentiments of other posters here. As for the Age and Anti-WWE stuff? It's the same posters saying the same shit every time it happens, imo it's not even worth giving your energy. Be happy and excited about it, don't let someone derail how you feel. No one say this coming, and if you did, I wanna know the lottery numbers for next week. Wight has more then couple of matches left in him. He's in better shape now then 15 years ago. Reason he hasn't wrestled more is Vince didn't value him. He would book him for random Raw ratings spikes and that's it. If Wight going to be at Dynamite takings every week to film new show. He's gonna end up wrestling a decent amount.

I think it all comes down to what Wight does. AEW has shown if you are an older name you're gonna be used to help acts get over.
So I'm curious where this goes

Someone on Reddit said he should always come out the face tunnel and leave through the heel tunnel and vice versa.

I honestly thought this was a joke when I saw it in my social media feed, wow. Who is next, the Rock or Austin?

Best of luck to him. I like the guy and feel a change of scenery (along with a trimmer self) was best for his future. Spot on. I feel like he's one of those guys that became stale over time by not having a rival company around to jump ship to and reinvent himself rather than doing the same thing over and over again for about 20 years. Show is a legend but I never thought I'd say I'm intrigued to see him wrestle in 2021 and yet here we are. Amazing what a change of scenery can do to pique my interest in a wrestler I would've otherwised changed the channel on. Show vs Shaq in AEW could be huge for them.

Rocky could go either way, he did a solid for Shamrock in TNA after all. I don't see Rock getting involved since he still kind of works with WWE. That's why he's allowed to use The Rock, Rock branding for his TV show and Under Armour gear, and why WWE keeps putting out merch with him on it. Austin, maybe if they wanted to do a series of vignettes where he's "training" Brian Pillman Jr. to follow in his father's footsteps. Now, Cena? If they can get him for any kind of deal, even just a couple of matches a year, that's the closest quasi-realistic equivalent of Hogan jumping to WCW that I can think of.

So for those who were wondering why they didn't make Wight's first appearance a surprise entry tonight, it's because tonight's Dynamite is pretaped.

Considering Cena’s doing Wipeout for TNT, there is actually more of a shot of him doing even a cameo then probably any time since he signed for WWE.
