Marko knows he is about to die again.Every big guy should debut destroying Marko I mean, yes, but I think it's moreso because Marko adores him. Big Show is his all-time favorite wrestler.

Has this been posted yet? I joked that they should replace it with Stevie Richards...and then I realized that meme would come full circle, then. idk why it irks me that this is 2011 Daniel Bryan in this picture and he wasn’t even on the main roster in 2009.

This surprised me. Him on commentary will be interesting. It will be boring. He doesn't have the personality or gift of gab to be on commentary. I still don't see how Taz has made a career out of it. Insanity. Taz gave us: YAMBAG JOEY NUMBAHS I KNOW! I SRWAR!

I know he's not to everyone's tastes, but to say Taz has no personality is just plain wrong.

As long as they keep him as a special attraction/nuclear option as a wrestler it’s fine. It’s when you go full WWE and shoehorn him into places that he shouldn’t be every week that it’s a problem.
Good signing overall though. He’ll be a good announcer too.

It is a huge signing IMO. And yes, because he was in WWE for so long meaning he should have been considered a "lifer" and a guy who would stay loyal to them forever. Maybe he felt that there was nowhere else to go during his 22 years. TNA was really for guys WWE was done with, not real competition. They might be able to pay a guy like Big Show well but at what cost? Feeling like you are on an indy show with TV time. That couldn't be worth it to a guy like him but now AEW is.
I personally hated how WWE treated Big Show and gave him such crappy storylines so I really hope he can get on track for better quality storylines with AEW. Also with Big Show coming up in WCW he probably knew Dusty well and then when Dusty went to WWE it seemed like they were pretty tight so I'm sure being a Cody Rhodes promotion probably helped make his decision. AEW might not be WWE and may never be but I hope they continue with the former WWE star signings. I hope AEW does to Vince McMahon what he did in the 1980s to the territory promoters. And this is coming from a former WWE fan, not an AEW fan. What little I do see of AEW is when I can't get my cardio machine at the gym that shows Shark Tank and have to go on the one that shows AEW and with closed captions. I do however appreciate any company being able to sign a guy from a company that paid him huge amounts of money over a lengthy period.

WWE struggled for the name of Big Show in the WWE, even calling him "Big Nasty Bastard". Here I think they're going with Paul Wight in this stage of his career! Let's also hope they stick with one heel/face alignment for him. Or just go completely meta and have him switch alignments every single match he commentates Have him flip based on who is currently on the offense. Heel tries to cheat? "Sqaush that little bug by any means necessary." Face thwarts the attempt? "That's right! Make em play by the rules!"

I think Big Show coming to AEW will also start to dispel the mystique about "WWE Lifers." It wasn't about having unbreakable loyalty to a company, but no other viable options. Guys like Kurt Angle and Christian could get a big payday from TNA, but they only had so many of those contracts to give.
Now? Outside of a handful of guys like Triple H, it means WWE can no longer afford to just assume their "lifer" talent will stay loyal. This is only good for the talent as it means less chance of WWE taking advantage of them.

By my calculations, since signing with AEW he has already turned 12 times and cried thrice.

I wonder if they’d convince him to make some Aew related videos even if it’s just a shout in a commercial

Am I the only one who is excited for the inevitable Jeri-Show reunion? I know, I know, Y2J is with MJF now, but he is a known tag team slut.

Meltzer mentioned on Observer Radio that Show and WWE were very far apart on money for a new deal and he started looking elsewhere.

Meltzer mentioned on Observer Radio that Show and WWE were very far apart on money for a new deal and he started looking elsewhere. Which just feels weird for a guy you've had on your company for over two decades, had involved in pretty much all aspects and at a time when you're dwarfing the income of the Rock 'n Wrestling and Attitude Eras likely combined. Like, I guess I can "get it" from a business sense in trying to keep someone around but not thinking they're worth more than they are but when a) you've paid people or offered to pay people to sit around and do nothing, b) when you can likely afford to pay him what he wants with no real effect on the bottom line and c) when competition actually exists and can potentially offer something better, I don't get why the hassle was there.

Meltzer mentioned on Observer Radio that Show and WWE were very far apart on money for a new deal and he started looking elsewhere. Record breaking money gains this year for them but they can't afford to pay one of the longest tenured guys and ambassadors for the company they've had. That sounds about right.

I do agree with Meltzer that he should be “limited” in order to come off as more of an “attraction” but that sounds about right.
