It kinda crazy he is younger than Jericho. (Paul turned 49 this year) Omg he is 49 and Jericho is 50? I thought they were in their mid-40s for some reason wow. I'm off lol. Well Show started at 23/24. He was another young gun, he just started at the Main Event.

He’s still in great shape. Would love to see him vs. Omega headline an event in the near future. Besides Shaq and Marko, this is a match I’d like to see the most and I never thought of this match until now.

I'm really curious to see what he's like in a completely different creative and backstage environment. Yeah, his last few years in WWE have been stale as shit, but a change in scenery can do a lot to reinvigorate a person's spirits. I'd love to see him on BTE and curious to hear him on commentary.
As for wrestling? Well, I think he'd be fine there. He's the kind of guy who can do squashes and matches that are easy on his body but still look impressive when eventually giving his opponent the rub.
He's also really good as a goodwill ambassador-type. He was doing that for the WWE for years for organizations like Make-A-Wish and the Special Olympics.

Well that came from nowhere. Interesting to see how this goes. That Shaq match has to be a motivation surely?

I always saw Marko Stunt as Wheelie to Luchasaurus' Grimlock.
Big Show is Devastator.

AEW can finally put a big show!
Good for him, getting paid millions to do nothing is worse than getting paid lesser to do what he likes. He was in ridiculously good shape during the rumored Shaq match at mania. If he is still in shape, it's a great signing for them since he's one of most recognisable names in wrestling. Hope they don't waste him with Cody or something

This can't really be stated enough, for as much as he was stale as old bread during his WWE run, he was pretty much a reliable hand in putting the company over and being a public face. Which is why it felt crazier they couldn't get a contract sorted for him. I would have thought that'd be the easiest thing to do, especially when the world opens up again.

AEW signed away the guy who headlined Mania last year. Wild.

PWInsider.com is told that WWE and Wight were unable to come to terms on a new deal financially and his final contract with the company last month, days after he made an appearance being verbally bullied by Randy Orton on the Raw Legends Night episode on 1/4. One source stated that Wight was very open that night about his unhappiness about the situation. Wight, who did not publicly announce his departure, was moved this week to WWE.com's Alumni section on 2/19. It is crazy,by all means Paul was always a very loyal employee. To think even he quit because he was unhappy.

To think even he quit because he was unhappy. He probably just wanted to actually be used and wrestle, and Vince was not really interested anymore. I think him leaving is good for both sides, he was stale in WWE after being there for so long and it’s nice to see him change territories.

People have their limits.

Big Show is the definition of a guy who I think could just use a change in scenery. I think he'll be great on commentary but just working somewhere else can revitalize someone's in ring career. Big Show vs. Orton for the 50th time? Not interested. Paul Wight vs. Wardlow or Archer or Fenix? Sign me up. Paul Wight vs Fenix, what the hell universe even is this?

Wow. That came from out of no where!
Didn't even know he was out of contract at WWE.
He can be legitimately entertaining, and can still do some physical stuff. I'm not interested in seeing a full time Paul Wight active wrestling run, but I am interested to see what AEW does with him.
Given how much of a surprise this was, they really shouldnt have announced it and just had him show up for live shock value.
