This is the second show everyone’s been clamoring about? Probably not, they've been talking about a second televised show. This is them separating Dark into two parts: Elevation focused on showcasing their developmental and Indy prospects, and the standard Dark being more of an old-school Superstars where bigger names can win squashes and have promo time

Tony also clarified that the 3rd hour of TV is still on the way:

Tony also clarified that the 3rd hour of TV is still on the way: Yeah I imagine they’re just splitting the Dark marathon into two separate shows.

This makes a whole lot of sense; they expanded Dark during the pandemic due to the seeming desire to give a lot of wrestlers a place to work during these times and to keep scouting talent and developing students, but it led to the show becoming 100-130 minutes a week of mostly squash matches or, at least, matches where the outcome really isn't in doubt and we're not getting big story developments, with a few exceptions.
However, they probably like a lot of the people they've had in and want to give the students a clearer platform to be featured on, so changing it from "cram everything into 2 hours" to "have one hour-long show for the students and indie folks, a second hour-long show the next day for main roster talent and angles" makes a lot of sense, especially if we get to summertime and the possibility of AEW getting to travel again opens up, then Dark can really return to its original format from the pre-pandemic days. Lets them maintain the best of both worlds: the pandemic style of Dark that's served as a showcase space for younger/newer people, and the pre-pandemic Dark that often had some bigger matches and feud developments.
Of course, who knows where that all goes once a third hour goes on TNT, but it does create a less cluttered seeming layout.

Is stuff going to happen on this show? Elevation will reportedly be canon to AEW Dynamite, meaning any storylines that develop will count, as will wins and loss records

I'm happy about this because I definitely wanna see some of the more far system and indie talent get some shine and maybe get some wins against each other, and then free up some space for the lower to mid AEW Talents to get more matches, reps, and wins vs one another. We need more matches like Hybrid 2 vs The Sydals, Top Flight vs Varsity Blondes, or Cutler vs Jungle Boy to name a few possibilities, more name talent vs name talent
Plus it potentially making both shows shorter, I'd say 6-8 matches each given DARK likes a 16 match average card, is also gonna be welcomed.

Is anyone else quite surprised with Paul Wight signing? I assumed he would be a WWE Lifer at this point.

So you won't have to watch it as s Dynamite viewer but it will add something to it if you do. I also imagine part of the draw will be seeing the future stars when they're starting out. Like getting to see a future Jungle Boy breaking into the company.

Elevation will officially begin on March 15th, which makes sense, that will be the next set of tapings after Revolution I believe.

What I really hope Elevation also does is we get more wildcard matches and wildcard wins
I wanna see something like Fuego Del Sol vs John Skyler where one of these dudes wins, or a Shawn Dean vs Ryzin, etc. Just wanna see some of these Regulars get some wins on their records and try and get to the regular DARK show, which will now be filled with more regular talent, therefore, would be the next step for them to try and conquor
I just think guys with a 3-5 is way better than them being 0-7, like how Nemeth went into his Moxley match 2-2 thanks to beating Marko and Solow, it's just a better looking record and gives them a bit more merit. I guess we'll see?

Even if this ends up just being a split of Dark's current hours it'll still be nice to just have these matches spread out more.

I'm hoping for more main roster matches on Tuesday, they'll be greatly appreciated. I dont want AEW getting too scared of the ranking system, some peeps can afford to win and lose some, and if need be let them have a match on Elevation now and again to offset it.

Even if this ends up just being a split of Dark's current hours it'll still be nice to just have these matches spread out more. Dark was just getting too bloated to the point that some episodes were nearly as long as the usual two-hour Dynamites, so Elevation makes for a good fix for that.

Tony mentioned in an interview that he originally wanted to call it just AEW Elevation and people at TNT talked to him and thought it should be called Dark: Elevation as a continuation of the Dark brand. You should listen to the people paying you a ton of money but I'm with Tony and prefer the original name.

It makes it more clear what it is and that it's kind of the sub-show to Dark, while just calling it Elevation risks causing confusion as to which show is which kind of like the three or four different HBO ____ services.

That makes sense. He also mentioned that they'll eventually have four shows when the second Turner show gets added so it makes sense to have to two clear TV properties and two clear Dark properties.
