Apollo seems to be channeling Idi Amin more than anything lol. I dig the guards and spear though My first thought when a friend sent me the clip of this was that he sounded like John Bird's quite racist Idi Amin impersonation from the seventies.

Militant by any means necessary One is fighting for civil rights, the other is talking down to people because he's royalty. Wait until Vince discovers Black Panther -The Movie in 10 years. Then we will get the Malcolm X version of Apollo

Sometimes you defend something as not being what it's being described as at all, and then as if the finger on the monkey's paw curls, next week they start introducing all the pieces you said weren't there. It's like our conversation about him not being Nigerian Jinder physically manifested that spear.

Watched it last night & thought it was campy, but fine. Heard just the audio of him on Busted Open this morning and he sounded like the Count on Sesame Street without the visual.

Visually it is a cool look but black people and spears don't have a good connection with each other Like I said I hope Apollo suggested it Thinking of Mark Henry and "the self-proclaimed Silverback", with them really trying to lean in, "HE'S proclaiming it, not us, honest!"

That was apparently true. Mark was the one that wanted to be the Silverback because they're badass animals... but... the WWE really should have interjected there....

I thought it was something where it was pitched to him and he didn't believe it was done with malicious intent, just ignorance, and he rolled with it. Of course, it being Mark, I could be conflating it with any number of racially insensitive things WWE has done with the guy.

That's not how Malcolm X works Yeah. A civil rights crusader and a man who feels entitled because of his royal lineage. The oppressed and an oppressor. Other than skin color, they couldn't be much different.

And some of y'all overthinking it
Crews said he is not taking anything laying down and demanding his respect by any means necessary. That's the only connection, nothing else to look at

“Screwed Over By The Ex” Ric Flair would be an X nickname that would be appropriate.

That's the only connection, nothing else to look at Is your point here that it's a coincidence he says a phrase connected to Malcolm X, or that the gimmick has no other connection to Malcolm X? the former strikes me as implausible, and for the latter, give it time.
