This is the kind of thing that makes people stop caring about wrestling. Is it impossible anymore for a pure babyface (who's never been a heel) to reach the top of the mountain? And why is WWE so goddamned lazy that they can't even be bothered with any kind of story arc to turn Lashley babyface. Congratulations, Vince - you now have one babyface ex-champion, a heel ex-champion and now a f***ING HEEL CHAMPION. This isn't even on a par with the Wrestlemania 9 f***up. Hogan, at least, was a big enough name back then to pull off the win against Yokozuna. Drew McIntyre, God love him, is no Bret Hart - he's not been as established as the top face (in an age of two/three brands The Face no longer exists), and now is in a piss-poor consolation spot vis a vis Lashley whose _only_ face act in the last year and a half has been beating an even more insufferable heel in The Miz. What in Christ's name do you do with this mess? The writers cut the Drew/Sheamus feud off at the knees for this garbage. They finagled the Money in the Bank briefcase from Otis to put it on Mizanin - and they turn Otis heel anyway! The Hurt Business, yes, should be in a position to challenge for one of the big titles - only problem is that the champion before all this mess just happened to be a babyface who would have been better off fending off the challenge from Lashley and facing down the rest of the stable. In nearly five years, the Heenan Family did their damnedest to throw Hogan off the mountain and could only manage it once through a level of chicanery never repeated in WWE history. These morons couldn't get past the first fifteen minutes of an arc like that. Garbage in, garbage out, I guess. Clearly, none of these people worked on _Schitt's Creek_. I disagree with all of this To say Drew hasn't been a top face is laughable Drew has been the top babyface and EASILY the best booked one in a very very long time. To suggest otherwise is completely ridiculous

I'm hoping Lashley has a nice healthy reign but I also would love it if they have him defend against both heels and faces. Have him mow over everyone. It's what they *should* have done with Brock when he won the title back in 2014

Congrats, good for him. This makes him the 2nd man to becoming WWE, ECW and TNA champ.

Can we also point out that WWE is doing a really good job with the black wrestlers on their roster right now? Obviously Lashley is champion and has been built up as a legit monster. You have Cedric and Shelton as tag champs. MVP has been a real MVP for the past year in WWE. Over on Smackdown, you have the Street Profits just off a big run as tag champs and they are still tops guys on Smackdown. You have Crews and BIg E getting a major feud that likely will culminate at Mania. And you have Bianca and Sasha who are about to be the first 2 black women to have a championship match at Mania and it could arguably be the main event one of the nights. Yeah Im shocked at how WWE is handling black wrestlers the best out of any mainstream company. The only one that can compare is ROH. Thats a big change from decades ago.

Never been a huge fan but I heard him interviewed a couple of weeks ago and he sounded like a cool guy. I like him more than Miz and Drew anyway so I'm happy about it.
Lash...ley.....Lash..ley....LASHLEY LASHLEY LASHLEY!

Bobby is getting a lot of momentum right now. I also doubt it main events so we don't have to worry about fans going home happy. I think it will be the penultimate match to whatever Randy/Fiend do.

I tuned out after the second tease but man..good for Bobby. Finally. Whether it goes to ‘Mania or further I hope they stick the jabbing with his reign. He’s deserved this. He’s worked his ass off for this for years. Through bathurds and uncalled for sisters, they finally did Lashley right.

Bobby in a Russev cuck angle where he married Lana Sami Zayne interview bobby's "sisters"

There was a lot of good conversation on here last night about the hero's journey, and I think Drew losing at Mania and having to come back from it is the ultimate hero's journey. Give me a Drew/Lashley match at Mania and then another big match at SummerSlam.

He earned that. I had no love for him in his first run, but he came back as a dude that looks and acts like he should be a champ.
No issue with him beating another heel. They're booking him like a Brock that'll just mow through anything.

Very well done angle. Makes it much more interesting next time someone has a promised a title shot (excluding MITB) in their hands.
