It's a big thread on the WWE Board but it effects both shows so...
The Wednesday Night Wars might be over in a month by the looks of things everyone. A moment of silence for all the awful internet discourse and arguing the ratings comparisons drew every week on Twitter (Not here, here was actually quite pleasant)
It'll be real interesting if this means AEW can start breaking a million. They almost did when NXT was off that one week for Hockey, and NXT was also in top 10 key demo that week on Tuesday as well, and while I thought that was the beginning of the end, cause advertisers are gonna care about that first and foremost, the NBC Sports Move also felt like another big push for this to happen.
Anyways, discuss! It definitely means big things for AEW and NXT as a whole!

It likely benefits both shows, but I suspect that the AEW numbers will be mostly the same. Hitting a million is cool just because it's a big number, but the numbers they've been doing have been more than enough to thrive.
Mostly, keeping my expectations low because, ultimately, the part I care about is: the show survives. Everything else is just interesting.

Good, maybe now I’ll be able to actually watch NXT with my full attention. I don’t think I’ve done that since 2016.

I watch highlights and specific matches here and there but it does lean towards both AEW and NXT viewers being able to check out both shows without having to watch the other later or not watch at all Might help the live threads here too!

AEW was likely to survive even if this continued given their numbers. When their contract comes due for an extension I would be stunned if they didn't get some big money and a whole lot more years guaranteed Idk how viewership will go but on the night AEW was without NXT due to Hockey playoffs, they almost hit a million (And I think did on certain segments), so I'm sure AEW is hoping to see a slight uptick in views, while they more than likely will retain their Key Demo as they've been doing, though that could see a bit of a boost as well NXT has nowhere to go but up. Key Demo wise their one night on Tuesday stands as I think the best night they ever did in Key Demo. Considering some nights they were drifting towards south of 500k, they can only go up.

A big issue is WWE doesn't seem to give a shit enough to advertise them, which also really didnt help their viewership vs AEW. I dont know if that'll change, but moving to a night where there's no competition outside of Impact (If they stay) and AEW DARK, it should benefit regardless.

I hope this benefits both shows for the sake of the talent, but I do feel for Impact here, this isn't going to be doing them any favors.

If anything, I don't have see another "Wednesday Night Wars" mention or review ever again. Or comment on a forum or social media. Just go be you NXT.
I don't think the ratings will change much. Maybe 100k. Most NXT people are WWE fans who prefer the WWE aesthetic but trying to do mid-2000s ROH. I used to enjoy it too, until it stopped being a wrestling program and became just a business tactic. I think their talent deserves to be seen by as many eyes as possible, and hopefully that will be the case. I'll believe the move when I see it though.

Anthem owns AXS, realistically speaking, they can move it any time they desire so it's not the worst scenario for them if they had to shift to avoid trying to head to head NXT

Anthem owns AXS, realistically speaking, they can move it any time they desire so it's not the worst scenario for them if they had to shift to avoid trying to head to head NXT It could also help with their AEW synergy. For example, let's say Kenny is going to be on Impact to challenge Rich Swann. Instead of saying "hell be on next Tuesday!" you can just say he'll be on tomorrow. That may sound marginal but when you're drawing around 180K viewers a week, those margins matter.

Good for both shows, ratings wise. I’d expect Dynamite to consistently break a million, and I anticipate once touring is underway again that Dynamite starts to get close to or surpass Raw in the ratings, although I guess touring could cause Raw’s ratings to increase as well.

Tnat last one is a bold assumption , but I think if Khan does things right it is possible.

For what it's worth, Meltzer's been projecting that AEW and Raw will be having ratings battles by the fall but mainly due to the rapid decline of Raw's ratings. Who knows what this (plus the return of crowds) will do to that

Who knows what this (plus the return of crowds) will do to that Yeah, that’s the time frame I was thinking. When Monday Night Football returns, there’s a good chance Raw is doing consistent 1.5 million viewers or so (and maybe less), unless there’s no decline year over year which would be surprising.

I would expect AEW ratings to grow to 900 to 1.1m with .35 to .40 plus in 18 to 49 if NXT moved. Which will help AEW get 100 to 150 million per year in next tv deal and put AEW in position to be around for a long time.

lol...if it ends up being over, cool. I’ll probably just watch NXT now. Everyone wins in this situation, as has been mentioned, except maybe some guy’s ego.
