I forgot that MJF and Spears were old friends when they'd gamble on the early Pandemic Dynamites The fact AEW remembers established little bonds like that is really awesome, and also crazy, cause I like to think I remember and catch little tidbits but boy I forgot about that lol Smart stuff. Even before that, they were “at odds” when MJF was pretending to be Cody’s friend which can be attributed as to why they started getting along.

I also just realized that exactly one year ago (on that day we'll all remember), the Inner Circle did the exact same powerbomb spot to Moxley. Fast forward to today and Jericho has the same thing done to him.

If they ever plan to do that long delayed "Blood and Guts" match this year, this will be the perfect teams for it.
Amazing segment.

Inner Circle vs Whatever MJF's Stable is called: Blood and Guts The Dark Order vs Big Money Matt Inc: Stadium Stampede 2 Both of these matches could easily be on Double or Nothing and would be two perfect spectacles to make up for the end of Revolution I would think.

If they ever plan to do that long delayed "Blood and Guts" match this year, this will be the perfect teams for it. Amazing segment. It was just perfect because both groups look smart. The Inner Circle for seeing through MJF and MJF being just enough of a devious heel to form his own group that was quietly forming in the background. It wasn't a swerve for the sake of a swerve. It wasn't the usual, expected finish in these situations but it makes f****** sense. That's what good storytelling is.

It's also nice because, like...if the Inner Circle members had been agreeable to MJF, then he'd have a faction twice the size. It was a high-risk, high-reward gamble, and he took out the risk by not putting all of his eggs in one basket.

Love the idea, I cannot stand Shawn Spears and the fact he’s done nothing in AEW and just disappears for months at a time doesn’t help build any confidence that he belongs...plus dude is like mid 40’s dressing and trying to look like a 20 year old.
Ftr act is annoying to me..same shit for years with them.

Emi Sakura and Mei Suruga (both big Jericho fans) getting emotional about it.

JR rightfully takes a lot of criticism for shit he says these days, but I have to give him props for the line "bottles are breaking, bones will be next". Simple, classic, sold the moment perfectly.

Spears will be fine for run-ins, multi-mans and eating pins. He does stick out when compared to the potential of the other guys though, even with the prior connection to Tully.
Question for the room - using just the current AEW roster, is there anyone else that could better work in that spot? I spotted Starks, Sky and 10 at first glance of their roster page, but none of them feel quite right either (at least as they currently stand).

Sky's the big one to me, but I think besides him I'd have to dip into the Dark crowd to find somebody better. JD Drake or Danny Limelight wouldn't be a better fit per se, but would be more exciting.

Can eat pins and be the dissenting voice to MJF. I am curious what they’ll go with for the name.

Spears is enough of a blank slate where he can be the fall guy or they can actually build him into a vicious threat.

Great finish to the show, but I'm honestly having a hard time reconciling the Inner Circle as the defacto "faces" of this feud, given the heelish antics they've pulled off over the past year. You don't want to pull too hard on that thread in AEW when The Bucks are around, just for starters I still think Cody fits like a glove with FTR and Spears. But if you need five guys to feud with Inner Circle. They certainly have a good opening act. I still prefer the Dynasty. I felt like Page is a slightly upgraded Holliday. I was half expecting him to be in the stable. I briefly considered the other two just showing up from MLW actually given everything else going on these days. Back when Spears had enough of an angle that he was a heel piece of shit so disgraceful only MJF would talk to him. I really go back and forth on MJF, sometimes I think he's great and sometimes he legit pisses me off. I guess I'm just getting worked, but I felt like it was a midcard act - even when he main evented with Mox. Over the past few months though, honestly - I think he's sold me.
