One thing I loved as well is that everyone was talking about the idea of Kingston passing out from the shock, and rather than trying to subvert expectations like so many shows trying to use shock value to avoid spoilers, they just said, yeah, that makes sense, here's his motivation. Really bugged me that some even here were saying that wouldn't make sense and it would make Kingston look weak anyway Like I truly don't think the people who were responding like that know how Shock, Anxiety, and PTSD work... watching Kingston as I have for like 12 years now, I absolutely saw this being a viable excuse. He's a badass but he's a badass with demons, fears, it's what makes him a human, it's what connects him to an audience even further. The man was in storyline ready to blow himself up to try and save someone, that's your takeaway, successful boom or not. Considering the chant he got tonight from the live crowd, they've been waiting since he showed up to scream his name as a face, so I think he'll be just fine lol Yeah, all that 'it'll make him look weak' stuff brushed up on way too many bad attitudes for me. Secret Agent Coolguy Hardcock can still get PTSD, there's no 'being too cool' for that kind of thing to get you. Eddie wrapped it up in a convincing tough guy explanation that works for his character without having to do any "I don't feel" shit that'll hopefully put it all to bed, because that was a pretty bad take from the start.

Kingston got more over with me the second he talked about having a 'flashback.'
He didn't just save the angle. It's representation. For a number of people I know and care about very much.
Kingston is the f***ing man.
Also always great to see people bringing PTSD up in a thread before I even get here.

It's absolutely a big deal that Eddie "Realest Mother@#$%er in the Room" Kingston decided to basically promo around a special effects failure by saying "Yeah, I got a trauma-related anxiety attack, you wanna do something about it?" Anyone can face a crisis like that in the wrong circumstances, even tough guys, and having one such tough guy go in with that is pretty awesome.

Considering my own battles with depression and anxiety, I feel closer to the dude more than ever. Great promo. Also, Mox looking like he was coming out of the biggest hangover ever was a feeling.

I legit want the two of them to call an episode of Dark or something together. It'd be hilarious. We're going to need more whiskey for that.

Do you think it was scotch or bourbon? I can’t imagine these guys with fancy whisky.

Given their characters, (and perhaps their real life personas) I'd go with something like Royal Reserve Rye Whiskey(If you've never drank it before do yourself a favour and DON'T). Also *shudder* the mere mention of Fireball gave me 'Nam-like flashbacks.

Kingston and Moxley will be a future documentary for AEW. I love how they fixed the PPV finish, I love that someone in wrestling tackles PTSD in real time, and I love whiskey drinking badasses.

Anyone can face a crisis like that in the wrong circumstances, even tough guys, and having one such tough guy go in with that is pretty awesome. This, coupled with how well they’ve handled Hangman’s emotional journey and managed to do an alcoholic angle without resorting to having Page be a drunken loser shows that it is possible for nuance and a human element to be incorporated into wrestling storylines without whiffing on it.

I want to see Kingston and Moxley turn this into a podcast series where they discuss the important issues of the week.
