Cody the real person I am a huge fan of generally, Cody the wrestler is someone who is a great babyface but also I cackle when bad shit happens to him same as with Triple H.
SNAP HIS DAMN ARM, PENTA

If I'm being honest I've always felt like I'm missing something on Penta. Maybe it's since I really only know his AEW work, but to me he just kind of seems like he's pretty good but only really stands out because of a cool look, his brother, and his finisher.

There isn't a cooler man in all of wrestling than Penta. I can't think of many wrestlers who I was all in on basically the second I saw them, but when I first saw Penta however many years ago now I thought 'that's my guy'. Glad to see they might finally be investing in him in AEW.

I think there were many different ways I would book then(I would totally have Penta turn on Fenix when he had the chance for example) but it was always a matter of time

IMO I don't think many really even get Penta unless you came in on the preverbial ground floor with him and watched him grow all through LU those of us that did have that emotional attachment to him but for others it is a combination of cool look and an undeniable aura. But I suggest going back whenever you got time and watch his whole LU run because without that no one would really get why Penta is the big deal among fans THAT entire run is what has made him the star he is today , his entire character is owed to that show. Now that run may spoil on you on him because that is the definitive version and it aint even close compared to his runs in any other company but it is a must watch if you want to "get him".

It's definitely time to push the guy like hell. I also want Death Triangle staying together and think it can be done even if one of them is being more overtly heel than the others (Fenix has been much more outright babyface the past month or two), but they're just too damn good a combination to break them up without them having reached their potential as a trio yet.
But Penta is just so damn good, and has such strong presence. Given that AEW's heel scene thinned out a bit the past few months he could definitely be a top level threat to any higher card babyface, but he's got so much charisma that he'll get cheered, regardless. Just let him be the killer he is, and hopefully build to him eventually dethroning Darby (or whomever the TNT champ is) when the time is right, he could absolutely run wild with it.

I don’t think there’s any reason Death Triangle can’t stay together. The Bucks are aligned with Kenny, Callis and the Good Brothers, but they’re still baby faces usually.

He’s largely celebrated for his non-AEW work so that may be it. He’s also got a bit of a reputation as a guy who will coast and do low gear speed in non major matches (just what a few lucha fans say, not claiming he actually does it, for all we know he’s been hurt forever). I think at his best he can really do well, and he does that better in singles.

Alignments are kind of all over the place in AEW anyway. Seems like guys like Archer and Death Triangle come off like sort of wild cards that slot into whatever role at any given time.

Cody is coming off a top spot on a TBS game show and a mainstream feud. Penta being put with him, and Fenis seemingly in openers and main events weekly, shows how much AEW is running with the Lucha Bros.
Penta is a top 5 guy for me every year. One of the best storytellers ever.

My first exposure to Pentagon was when I binged LU seasons one and two. He was AMAZING. I saw bits and pieces of him here and there since, but AEW has been my only other exposure and he is vastly inferior here to his LU counterpart. I really hope he can get back to that. Gimme Penta breaking PAC and Rey’s arms and going on a f***ing tear with some higher power at work. Copy his entire storyline from LU for all I care, it was great. Penta can be so much more, and I hope this leads to his arrival finally.

There's no reason Penta can't be heel and Fenix face, they're brothers, not spouses, if they're not directly feuding there's no reason they can't each do their thing and still tag. Just have Fenix look like he doesn't approve when Penta goes too far, give the occasional 'come on, man', but otherwise let blood be thicker than water.

Funny enough this is how it has been for a majority of the LU wrestlers that haved moved onto to wrestle in other televised companies since because of how strong those characters were and when it all ended...they became just normal wrestlers. Brian Cage is always one that comes to mind for me...yea he is alright everywhere else he has been but CAGE in LU had an aura and swagger to him that no other company has been able to capture since....and just little things like Melissa's way of announcing FROM THE 559 really put a special little touch to his character.

I honestly think the biggest thing Cage is missing is the I`M NOT A MAN I`M A MACHINE.That is just hype.

Ironically, I’ve always been hyped up for Cage since seeing pictures of him and hearing he’s a huge Wolverine fan. Then I saw him in Lucha and was thoroughly underwhelmed. He’s jacked to shit and does cool moves, but even in the heavy LU produced world, dude is a charisma vacuum.

Yeh I think he was what LU needed to be,a big f***ing dude that looks impressive But he really didnt compare to guys like Mil,Fenix ,Penta,Morrison,Evans, etc. when it came to charisma

Cage has Kurt Angle/late 90s Power Plant guy syndrome. He knows how to do cool stuff but I'm not sure he's good at knowing when to do said stuff.

Brian Cage is freaky athletic for a guy with his build. But he's had ring psychology issues for pretty much all his career.
The comparison to Kurt Angle is real apt. Both are great athletes and have a lot of charisma, but they're dreadful at in-ring storytelling.
