AEW is oddly old school in a lot of ways that you would expect someone like Cornette to appreciate. They use blood to heat up an angle. They rely heavily on tag team wrestling. The champions are extremely heavily protected. Big men are treated like big deals and are protected. There's usually a lot of psychology around working a body part or going off of previous match sequences. They reserve gimmick matches like a steel cage for when they're necessary. A lot of what AEW does harkens back to the earlier days of wrestling in a way few American promotions currently do. Yes, the moves are different and the talent is smaller. But they've also blended the past firmly into their fabric. I think Jim has let too many personal grudges get in the way of him objectively looking at AEW's product.
There is that. The Young Bucks have openly admitted to running into Jim Cornette at an indy show or convention where he tried to give them a big hug and act like their online feud was just to work fans and make money. But there are a few wrestlers insanely over in AEW that Cornette just cannot bring himself to support (Kenny, OC, Chuck).
That being said, and I kind of mentioned it before, is AEW books themselves in a way where you can realistically have so many different segments main event and people wouldn't bat an eye if I'm not mistaken one of the highest rated min events of 2020 was the street fight for the Best Friends and PNP.
I also think they clearly are trying to make each title mean something. Obviously the women's title needed some rebuilding and that is in progress, but belts are more than just props
