As a Transformers fan in college around the turn of the millennium, I definitely remember those Wild West days on the internet. Watching Beast Wars and Beast Machines, following Transformers news on Alt.Toys.Transformers and Ben Yee's website (is that guy still around?), trying to download old G1 episodes and never getting them to work with my software. I miss those days. Although that's probably more because I had hair and a girlfriend back then then anything Transformers related.

Before eBay, I'd follow/conduct auctions in attempts to get G1 figures on ATT.

You just described my life 20 years ago minus the going to college thing. Just to throw it out there, I once bought bootleg VHS of the Singapore dubs of the Japanese stuff. That's how old school I am.

Ah, he stopped at #40..... right before it (IMHO) really got good. He's going to do the second half next week. I was figuring/HOPING he would. That half of the Marvel run really serves as the foundation of whatever fandom I've ever had for Transformers. For years before that, never cared for it. Actively avoided it on TV, I'd catch the end credits sometimes because I tuned in for GI Joe a smidge early. Heck, I can say I was a Go-Bots guy in the '80s. Then a high school friend said "oh no, TF was cool" and effectively proved it to me.

If he's doing G2 next week, he's going to have to cover GI Joe (since the backstory was covered in some tie-in issues).

Issue 75 has one of my favorite scenes in all Transformer-dom in it - Circuit Breaker pwning Unicron. Optimus can babble on about the Matrix all he wants, I still choose to believe that it was the crazy chick covered in nothing but strips of aluminum foil that saved the day.

It also has a brutal yet heroic death for Scorponok

I'm upset that Regeneration One didn't end with Skullgrin returning to his Hollywood career.
