Yeah, I saw that Phoenix Splash on the unedited version of Dark, and I didn't even click that it was Evans accidentally elbowing 10. Even in the GIF above, Evans's elbow doesn't seem to come close to 10's chin, so it was quite the freak accident. I thought nothing of it watching live either and wasn't until this article I was even sure what caused the damage. I actually marked out over the phoenix splash and had no clue where the blood came from

Didn't they have to heavily edit one of his matches with one of their main event talent to make it watchable on TV? Moxley, I think.
I think age and smoking are catching up with Jack unfortunately, just as TH2 are finally becoming featured players. Now is the time he should maybe consider changing his style a little otherwise he may get in the situation where he's potatoing people constantly like RVD.

they only showed this from the one angle, but here's the elbow that busted 10's face: Jack Evans has been doing flips for so long that his f*** ups still look 10/10

Which was a pretty long singles match on Dark, putting Jack out of his element in a few ways, but it's still not a good sign and he cites this as why he hasn't gotten on live TV much.

Damn and I really liked that match, thought Omega put Jack over pretty hard Also he's gotten on TV quite a lot I've thought? In a lot of multi-man's and such but also two big tag team spots with Young Bucks and FTR and then certain segments like costing 10, it's not like he's been blackballed from getting screentime. Angelico's definitely gotten more singles matches on TV in comparison.

Well he's not the only smoker in wrestling but I'm sure if he was able to quit it'd help him in ways. But Evans hasn't potatoed people constantly, this is like the first instance I can remember it happening in AEW, and it's not like he errantly stiffed someone or botched the move, he hit it absolutely flush and it was just unlucky tha his elbow hit 10 in the mouth It's very rare to see someone do a move so nicely and accidentally hurt someone and then have them labled sloppy or declining in workrate due to it. This wasn't Nia throwing Kairi with no regard for her safety, Jack just clipped 10 and there was literally no way he could have hit that Phoenix Splash any better.

That's fair enough, I do hope this instance doesn't hurt Jack in any way, I really wanted to see them in Hardy Empire with Private Party and Butcher and Blade. Again if Guevara can survive what he did to Matt and then some, Jack hitting a perfect Phoenix Splash where it was just an unlucky elbow clip I hope doesn't actually give him heat with people.

If that's true, it seems like an over reaction. He is really sloppy but that move was accidental. I can buy Vance being raging about it but it doesn't make much sense for management to be.

It looks like it was just an unfortunate incident, that looked pretty well executed and just the elbow clipped 10

Idk it reads to me like Guevara's TNA stuff did, where he was just laughing about it in his vlogs and was like "People will believe everything the dirtsheets tell them", this is how that reads. If you see Sammy's Vlog and the aftermath of 10 being hurt, none of them seemed upset at Evans, and Cody's an EVP.

Evans has been really terrible this year, he should consider changing his style or he will become the male Nia Jax. Who else did he injure? Nick Jackson's leg got hurt when he got his knees up for Jack Evans' 630, but that's not really anyone's fault, much less the guy spinning in the air and unable to really do anything about that.

I'm more curious as to who that references? I would assume either Kenny, Cody, or the Bucks, because if it were Tony Khan just say it's Tony Khan.

He really shouldn't get heat for that shit. It's so snug. That is a freak accident.

This is why it feels real newzy to me and might not even be true. It definitely wasn't Cody because he was laughing about it on the Sammy Vlog last week, and 10 seemed in good spirits just had a fat lip. Again it really feels like the Sammy/Impact situation where I'm sure there was an internal discussion but HEAT seems like a real strong word for what was clearly an accident that could have happened to literally anyone.

they only showed this from the one angle, but here's the elbow that busted 10's face: Jack's left elbow, closest to 10's face, clearly lands on the mat by 10's left shoulder. It was Jack's ribs, or possibly his left knee, that collided with 10's face.

I legit don't know how you hit a 450 better than that, just real bad luck.
