Didn't they have to heavily edit one of his matches with one of their main event talent to make it watchable on TV? Moxley, I think. I think age and smoking are catching up with Jack unfortunately, just as TH2 are finally becoming featured players. Now is the time he should maybe consider changing his style a little otherwise he may get in the situation where he's potatoing people constantly like RVD. Well he's not the only smoker in wrestling but I'm sure if he was able to quit it'd help him in ways. But Evans hasn't potatoed people constantly, this is like the first instance I can remember it happening in AEW, and it's not like he errantly stiffed someone or botched the move, he hit it absolutely flush and it was just unlucky tha his elbow hit 10 in the mouth It's very rare to see someone do a move so nicely and accidentally hurt someone and then have them labled sloppy or declining in workrate due to it. This wasn't Nia throwing Kairi with no regard for her safety, Jack just clipped 10 and there was literally no way he could have hit that Phoenix Splash any better. You're right. Jack evans is known more for botching and missing moves consistently rather than potatoing. Terrible

Yeah, when Jack botches, he usually crashes and burns himself. But he's always done that. It's part of the Jack Evans Experience, along with his constant trash talking.

I'm more curious as to who that references? I would assume either Kenny, Cody, or the Bucks, because if it were Tony Khan just say it's Tony Khan. This is why it feels real newzy to me and might not even be true. It definitely wasn't Cody because he was laughing about it on the Sammy Vlog last week, and 10 seemed in good spirits just had a fat lip. Again it really feels like the Sammy/Impact situation where I'm sure there was an internal discussion but HEAT seems like a real strong word for what was clearly an accident that could have happened to literally anyone. It’s straight from Meltzer’s newsletter, not sure you can get a better source for who has heat with higher ups in AEW than Meltzer.

Terrible Jack's been pretty good in AEW all things considered, kinda sucks he hits a move flush and something still goes wrong and people come out of the woodwork to bash his in ring ability though.

Just find it weird he'd have heat for this, it was a flat out accident. I don't really know how he could have hit that move any better, 10 just got a busted lip out of the deal. Like didn't Jericho clip Darby with the Judas Effect on one show and knock him clean out? It can happen to anyone. If Evans had completely botched the landing and like Billy Kidman'd 10 I feel I'd agree with the heat situation more but every shot I've seen of the 450 I just can't help but wonder what could have been done to prevent it.

Just saying Meltzer would presumably know if someone has heat with higher ups in AEW. Might be a series of events with him too, and this was the last straw. Also while the move looked good, he clearly could have hit the move better if it resulted in what it did. He messed 10 up pretty bad.

We'll have to see how things turn out, Evans was finally being used consistently, as was Angelico. I would hate to see both of them be kicked out of the Hardy Empire storyline because of it because I feel like it has good legs to it. They probably just shut him down for the taping after whenever this match occurred, because it seemed like it was before the second Dynamite was taped.

Botches happen all the time but I can get someone getting more heat than usual for it depending on when and where it happened, especially if a kid is involved. I'm sure Jack will be fine but I get it why people would be upset at him.

Honestly, I love the dude but maybe he needs to slow down his style some? He seems to be fine getting his spots in, but he's really slowed down a lot to me and Angelico looks a lot more quicker and accurate these days to me. Dude is almost 40, like there's no reason to be doing a phoenix splash for a Dark match.
Maybe take a cue from a guy like PAC, who still bust out the high flying stuff, but uses a more ground based style that can cause less injury to himself and other people.

It's weird because it kinda felt like he was for a time? His Bridging Prawn Pin was a finish for a time and it's one of the more unique pins in wrestling. Only recently has he been busting out bigger moves. I don't know if he was asked to or if he's doing it to prove something, but if that's what it takes he should definitely do more ground based high flying like his Sky Twister Press, Moonsaults, or his tornado kick off the apron. Finish people with the Pin or the regular 450, and save the Phoenix or 630 for bigger matches like PAC does the Arrow. Or work a submission into your game I mena Angelico is your partner...

He honestly just undershot that by a hair. In terms of wrestling accidents this isnt Nia Jax or anything like that. It just shows how wrestling is really one second away from messing up

He gave Dante Martin everything he had, took some nasty bumps, basically gave him the showing of his career so far
So if he had any heat I assume that was him making up for it, and showing he's still a valuable asset win or lose in the company.
