I'm about to watch Aquaman tonight after Fastlane. Judging by how much I hated him in the Snyder Cut, I'm expecting to dislike this beloved movie.

Clerks. Apparently a great comedy. I just found it really dull. Nothing at all registered with me.

I never saw the Indiana Jones movies as a kid. I went with friends to see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and they did not care for it. So they decided we should all sit together and watch the first three, because they wanted me to see the REAL Indiana Jones. They were fun movies, but hardly masterpieces. I spent a lot of the time going "Oh okay, this is the thing Family Guy was referencing". Or other things that also referenced these movies but weren't Family Guy.
I didn't see Top Gun as a kid either, and we decided to watch it just a couple years ago. Found the main character unlikable and the plot more annoying than anything else. Also, people rave about the soundtrack, but there's only, like, 2 songs repeated over and over again: "Danger Zone" and "Take My Breath Away". Fine songs, but I don't need to hear them constantly for 90 minutes.

I didn't see Raiders of the Lost Ark until I was in my twenties. And I just thought it was okay. I think it may be because the movie is so ubiquitous, that I already knew exactly what was coming. Sti, I’ve never felt the need to rewatch or seek out the sequels.

Fine songs, but I don't need to hear them constantly for 90 minutes. I've yet to see Indiana Jones either. But for me my childhood gaps that I filled were the Star Wars movies and the Terminator movies. And they're weirdly inverse experiences of one another. Star Wars - Everyone my age saw the first movies on tape. They were young when they saw them and saw them in order. Everyone's favourite seemed to be the first one. Watching them for the first time in my late twenties, I found the first one cheesy and just ridiculous in parts. Luke screams "Noooo" Obi Wan is killled. A dude he's known for what, a few weeks at most? But the people who raised him from a child are burned alive and he just peaces out of there! Generally, I found the second one way more compelling. But honestly, if it weren't for how much people love the franchise, the first movie wouldn't have compelled me to watch more. Terminator 1 and 2 - Opposite story. So many of my friends were the right age to see T2 when it came out and only saw T1 later on video. As a consequence they all prefer 2. Which I get, it's one part nostalgia and one part it totally being aimed at them - T2 is "cool", it's all catchphrases and action. It's also got a young audience member surrogate in John Conner. But to my fresh eyes, the original is the better movie. It's genuinely scary stuff. Sure, it borrows liberally from Westworld, but it refines that unrelenting killing machine idea. For me, everything after the first one is just a cash in. I'll watch them all sure but they'll never measure up

I felt thoroughly underwhelmed by Inception and for all the praise I'd heard for it when I got around to Winter Soldier I just found it deathly boring.

Loads of old movies have been ripped off so often they disapoint when I finally see them. Blade Runner is the one that comes to mind. Not everything though, Casablanca was still great. I’m struggling to think of an honest answer but Blade Runner definitely fits the bill. I'm the opposte with Blade Runner. Saw it in a theater as a kid and was disappointed. But I went into it thinking I was gonna get a Han Solo space opera movie. Then sometime in the late 80s caught it on TV and I loved it. Each time I watch it,and I end up watching it at least once a year,I find something about it I love. For me hmmm The Exorcist. I saw it as a kid,I was about 3,but didn't remember anything about it really. Heard from everyone how it was this amazing horror film. Rented it sometime in the mid 80s and sat there watching it bored out of my mind. Got told "Well it really works if you are Catholic." My mother is Catholic and made me goto Mass each week. And still the film bores me. I do love the novel. ID4 is another. I missed it in theaters but everyone I know saw it and loved it. When it hit home video we rented it. Yea what was all the fuss about. Bad acting, huge plot holes. And I know I am one of the few that finds Will Smith annoying as hell.

Sat there going OK why the hell was this so loved. Cruise was his normal boring self.

Serenity Ridiculously hyped. I watched it and thought it was the definition of average. Maybe if I ever watched Firefly I’d have enjoyed it more but I have never had the desire to watch that either.

Firefly was ok at best. Seeing it doesn't make Serenity any better. After watching pretty much every Wheldon show I have come to realize that Buffy was an abnormality. And even then Buffy had those 2 horrible seasons when they were in college.

I have never really liked Star Wars ROTJ. It has all the weird things people would go on to dislike Lucas over. George is very imaginative, but unless he is paired with a great director and really good editors, his movies are pretty disorganized. Which cut have you seen, because the original version that hasn’t been available since the early-1990’s is the good version. Everything since the 1997 special editions has gotten progressively worse to the point where even I can’t watch it It was released on DVD in 2006 along with original theatrical cuts of the other two of the original trilogy. They were two disc sets, the first was the remaster of the film, the second disc was the original release. I have the set. However, unless you’re desperate, don’t bother with them. First, they now go for over-inflated prices as they were only out for.a while. Second, the transfer is terrible. I get the impression they only released them to stop the fans asking and was “fine, here they are but we’re putting zero effort into the presentation”.

The 40 Year Old Virgin... I was so underwhelmed I never even finished it. Well Steve Carell isn’t funny and just screaming Kelly Clarkson is especially not funny.

I remember about five years ago, Blade Runner was re-released in theaters and I would say that I was a bit underwhelmed by it. I heard from so many people that it was a great film, but I guess I was expecting a bit much. I think I might give it another watch sometime soon to see if it will grow on me. I am usually someone who is willing to give anything a go, as well as watch something multiple times.

But over the years I have grown to love every version in some way.

I kept hearing conflicting reports that it was and was not the original cuts. Some said it was the original 1997 cuts, not 1983. Which basically meant Hayden Christiansen wasn’t at the end and the CGI was a bit worse. I’ve never boughten into any since. I still can’t believe Disney hasn’t released them but now that they own Fox I bet they will to drum up interest when they try doing another trilogy in ten years

Caddyshack. Sure the stuff with Murray and Dangerfield is great, but aside from them, the film is just a typical 80s teen comedy.
