Companion thread to the other one. I saw a Clockwork Orange for the first time last week and it definitely lived up to expectations, fantastic film.

For me, Endgame.
It capped off a decade of stories in a very satisfying way.

For me, Endgame. It capped off a decade of stories in a very satisfying way. Yep. This was the first and only time I went into a theatre with huge expectations and left even more hyped than when I entered.

I know it isn't everyone's favorite Captain America movie ,but Civil War. If it isn't I don't know why. Should have been the second Avengers movie somehow. Was better than a certain other superhero matchup movie of course.

Casablanca is one example for me Consider it one of my favourite films Casablanca was the first movie that came to mind. Was ready to hate it upon watching it for the first time like 3 years ago. Holy Cow, what a film. Holds up strong. All of the Indy Flicks The OT Star Wars Trilogy Godfather 1 & 2 Titanic Gremlins

I heard a lot about Jaws before finally seeing it and while optimistic there was some strong doubt in me about how good a killer shark movie (even one directed by Spielberg) really could be.
Damn if it didn't live up to those expectations and more.

The Godfather I & II. I saw them for the first time about 10 years ago. That was also the only time I've seen them, but I was so enthralled that I still remember them in great detail a decade later.

Everybody always told me A Knight's Tale was a really fun movie, but I just could never get up the motivation to watch it. Then, at the start of the lockdown, I stumbled across it on an On Demand channel, and it almost immediately became one of my favorites.

The Street Fighter-Kept hearing from older cousins how this Sonny Chiba movie was the best martial arts film ever. Didn't see it until 2002 and they were right. Forget Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan,Sonny Chiba is the MAN!

The Lords of the Rings Trilogy
Ridiculous amounts of hype built over years and they still surpassed expectations.

The Dark Knight.
It's probably the only movie I've watched, where I'd convinced myself at a point that it was about to end, except it didn't, and I was genuinely happy about it.

I know it isn't everyone's favorite Captain America movie ,but Civil War. If it isn't I don't know why. Winter Soldier, to me, had a more interesting tone and the Winter Soldier himself was presented as this absolute force of chaos until the Bucky reveal. But then those two movies are so different that it's hard to compare the two.
