I have a feeling that auction thing was a setup for drama on the show. Like they called Sonny and he told them he was auctioning it off already. I don't trust reality tv for anything That said the show better explained why they wanted "Andre's Passport" pretty well but it still weird to put in the intro. Well it was set up enough that the B-roll of them arriving was shot after the snow started because they parked in the exact location the vehicle was in when it started, that's why there's no snow in the spot. Also, the guy who won, doesn't really understand how auctions work, so obviously he had agreed to a price previously, which was he bid himself up by double for no f***ing reason.

I’m surprised nobody’s talked about the Flair episode yet. This ep had segments that angered me WAY more than the Onoo ones. The guy negotiating was such a scammer. Unbelievable.

If they do another season, I'd like to see them track down Rick Rude's airbrushed tights.

I love that Conrad is such a mark despite knowing everything he does. It's why I can't quit his podcasts, the guy is just so infectious with his enthusiasm. Interesting to see he has a really strong relationship with WWE regarding loaning out items, I wonder if that started before or after Bruce made up with them.
So much of all the 'searching' was scripted and done before the show, including this thing with Charles, and this wheel deal with that group (Conrad just throwing the $$$ around), and probably the thing with Sonny Ohno (though I dunno about that as I dont see what he gets out of being a dick on TV when he doesnt have an angle to play) but I enjoyed all those. I'd like to see another series, but I'd also love to see more of the actual archival stuff with Ben Brown. A series just focussing on what he does and all the researching and preservation and restoration stuff he probably has to do or oversee would be a really interesting series, or at least one off feature length documentary.
Similarly, if the A&E documentaries come back, I'd love a big Flair one. You know that story is just full of twists and turns, even if it would probably make Ric out to be awful. It was sad to see Reid brought up and light touch discussion of his death. Conspicuous by his absence or any sort of mention was David.
Side note, Charlies Robinson has aged really, really well. You dont notice that when he's on TV as a ref.

Conrad has had a long relationship with them in regards to loaning stuff out prior to Bruce going back. He mentioned that they actually lost something he loaned out to them (possibly a pair of Ric's boots but don't quote me on that.)
He made a comment a long time ago saying that he would be willing to buy someone a car of their choosing if they had the Butterfly robe. He's literally talked about it for years and how the collectors circle is very small and no one even had the slightest idea of where it was. The price the guy wanted was secondary but you could tell that he was getting pissed off with the constant changes to the deal. When they said they had hit a snag originally, I honestly thought they were gonna reveal that Conrad had contacted the guy on his own and just bought the thing outright without WWE's help but that he was gonna have no problem loaning it out to them.

I kept assuming the go between guy just was the guy, and he was just trying it on over and over, and then made 'a call' when he could see he'd push far enough. But that would be to assume any of that was real, and I just can't believe it was

The guy loves the business, you can’t deny that.

I know wrestling fans sometimes think wrestlers are way more famous than they really are, but I’m almost positive Flair is more famous than Hootie.

But the guy negotiating on behalf of the guy to keep raising the price of the robe? That would be bizarre if that was scripted since it only made WWE look bush league for caving.

Yeah, I disagree, but I see your point. To me, it feels like everything on these shows is scripted. The guy Foley got his stuff from was somebody he's sold his stuff to in the past and they pretended to not know each other. There were definitely other interactions like that on the show as well. I'm sure Lawler knew Apter had the neck brace, too, for instance. That alone is enough for me to believe that they'd go as far as scripting the negotiation process. Same with that awkward Sonny Onoo auction. I actually like the show a lot and I think it shows that AJ Francis is actually a pretty talented on-air guy, but I just have a hard time believing most of it wasn't heavily scripted. Maybe more will come out about the process that proves my point wrong, who knows.

Like, even if there were things that are true, it's sort of hard to believe that every situation the show has had would involve some kind of emotional turning point or an event that was memorable when it involves, not to take away from the concept, buying old wrestler gear. It's the same as how Total Divas would have them going out drinking and something goofy would happen when, like, that doesn't happen in 99% of friendship situations unless you set out to do that somehow. It's no doubt entertaining and designed to get a reaction but, well, it's designed to get that reaction.

It’s not a bad show, it’s just the lame parts of American Pickers and Pawn Stars with wrestling shit.

Darius Rucker has had massive success in the music industry for 25 years now, and in the rarest of rare cases where he was a huge mainstream star who then gained a huge country audience.

Is he still active? I honestly haven’t heard a word from him since whenever that album he put out in the 90’s was. I know everyone on Earth bought it but that was a while ago.

Yes, hes still active as a solo country artist. And a very successful one at that, so i do think hes a bigger name than Flair
