Gang, this has been such a source of frustration and depression for me for weeks. As someone living alone with no pets during the pandemic who has been doing the staying at home and social distancing thing super strictly since March of last year, I feel such an alleviated pressure. This is like the first real bit of hope and happiness I've felt in a long time that we're going to get through this to the other side.
I'm getting the Dolly Parton shot (Moderna). Got my first dose scheduled for Thursday and my second the first week of May.
Anyone else have major emotional reactions to vaccination scheduling or the shot itself?

UPDATE: Not a joke, I just looked it up and the Walgreen's I'm getting my vaccination at used to be Ed Sharkey's bar and training facility.
Gang, I'm getting my COVID vaccination in the same place X-Pac and Jerry Lynn learned how to wrestle.

I got my first dose of Pfizer on the 22nd of March, and I go back for the second shot next Monday. The thing that has me so emotional isn’t that I’ve gotten it, it’s that I now know way more people who have gotten their first shot or are fully vaccinated than people who have yet to get anything, and that’s what makes it feel like there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Due to Japan closing its borders I haven’t been able to see my fiancée in a f***ing year and a half, nor have I been able to start my job over there, and there have been some really dark moments where I felt like nothing would ever happen and that we were just stuck with this as our life now but it almost feels like there’s a future again.

I've put myself on a bunch of waiting lists. I should've been able to secure one by now as I have a couple of things that allowed me to get in with the group considered higher risk. But so far no dice.
At least both my grandmother and both my parents got vaccinated a couple of weeks ago and are now considered immune. Grandma got the Moderna and my parents got the Pfizer.

Got my first shot a few weeks back (Pfizer) and the second shot will be this Thursday.
Location is a former Best Buy at a mall that is nearly dead. Pretty surreal.

Got mine (Pfizer) last week, due to get my second on the 20th. I work at a grocery store with a pharmacy that does vaccinations, so it was simply a matter of walking up when my shift was over at noon.

Got my first shot about two weeks ago. I'm hospital security but I literally only got one because the ones they had were expiring at the end of the day. We're the absolute bottom of the totem pole among healthcare workers despite the fact that, you know, we have more physical contact than almost anyone. -_-
Whatever though. I'm glad I get it. Get the second shot sometimes in june I think

Congratulations on getting the shot, and being on the right side of history. I was fortunate that through my job I was able to get the two dose shot with ease a couple months ago.

also got Moderna. Got first shot last month, get second one on 4/15. For me just at a Community Center in Manassas, va.
Actually had some issues with scheduling my second. See i work at a construction plant and I work in the stock room with just two other people, we keep all the screws and bolts and drill holes for plates to go into walls etc. But anyway my boss also got their first shot last month, different place though. and we were both scheduled to get second one on 4/20. Well I heard, especially with Moderna, the second shot can kinda mess up a little for a day or two. So instead of both of us having same day and maybe missing two days each leaving only one person in the stockroom those days I was able to move my appointment to earlier at 4/15, which is a Thursday. It was the only other day open. So my boss is basically trying to give me a hard time saying I only moved it to take a 4 day weekend. And saying its to them if I can even take a second day after the shot.
But iam still gonna take off, cause its really just all talk

Been fully Moderna’d since late January. I’ve been eying the data about COVID variants frequently just waiting to see news about one that gets around these vaccines. I’ve become quite pessimistic lately.

I got my second shot this past Thursday. I've been so sleepy since I took it, but I never ran a fever or felt sick. I mainly just felt like all of my energy was zapped and that is still lingering, to a certain extent. They recommended that I take two Tylenol before the shot to try and hold off the side effects, so maybe that worked.

I’m fully vaccinated. Pfizer. (Well as of Friday it will be two weeks since my second dose) expect minor side effects the day after both shots. Second dose hits you harder, but nothing that requires medical attention.

I’ve become quite pessimistic lately. I've seen good things regarding Pfizer and variants. Considering it's the same basic technology, I would think Moderna would be similar, but I haven't necessarily heard anything about Moderna. Scheduled for my first Pfizer shot April 15. Getting the confirmation had me PUMPED. Had a bunch of friends that got Johnson and Johnson on Friday. Thought about going but I had to work this weekend and the one I have scheduled is the first of several days off just in case I get some side effects.

My dad was completely fine after both shots. My mom was feverish and achy the day after, and groggy over the weekend, but that's it.
My 98 year old grandmother just had a sore arm for a couple of days.
