I've been volunteering at my local Covid Vaccination Centre whilst I'm on furlough and my daughter is at nursery.
Been really rewarding and totally worth it to see so many appreciative people and help them through the process. Some of the over 80's hadn't left their house for almost a year until they got their first jab.
I've been fully vaccinated with the Astra Zeneca vaccine as of Friday (staff have been getting anything left over). First one did indeed hit me like a truck about 18 hours after I had it but this second one has been much better, felt a little rough but no worse than a hangover!

I got my first stick two weeks ago, the Pfizer version. I wasn't worried about the shot, more the process getting it since the hospital was doing it as a drive through thing at a local church but I was in and out in 20 or so minutes and 15 of that was the waiting period to make sure I didn't have a bad reaction to it. I was sore in my left arm and had a nice welt where they gave me the shot but that was it. I go for my second dose Thursday.
I was on a waiting list for a month or two and in a shock to me my Mom actually wanted the vaccine as well, something she refuses to do for anything else. I wish I could talk my Dad into get it too but it won't be happening for "reasons". Wish my cousin could get it since she's had to miss 6 weeks of school quarantining because of others.

Got my first 3 weeks ago and the 2nd comes this Thursday. Pfizer here. My fiancé and I only had arm soreness and that lasted two days.

As a Canadian in my 30s, I'll probably be eligible to get it some time around fifteen months after I've died from COVID.
My province is on fire right now covid-wise and the lockdown measures being employed are laughable. Sigh.

Hopefully I can get something soon, if only because my grandma who I live with has basically taken the attitude of, "Well, I got mine, f*** all of you," and is no longer taking any precautions whatsoever. In general this whole pandemic she's been incredibly selfish but especially as of late she basically seems to actively not care if I catch it from her doing stupid shit. Hell basically just had an argument with her where she was basically saying if I somehow had gotten vaccinated already then there wouldn't be any further need to worry about it which 1), isn't how that works because it's not foolproof and 2), is making it sound like it's my fault she wants to be an idiot.

Got Pfizer part one on Friday. Mild arm soreness right at the injection site.
Wife has appointment on Wednesday. Has to be off her rheumatoid arthritis meds for a week before and after. I've been pushing her to do the J&J one-shot one so she doesn't have to be off her meds for basically a whole month but she won't listen to reason.

Has anybody that's already gotten the shot previously had covid? I saw a video saying that there's been reports that for people with covid, the first shot is worse than the second. Curious if anybody's felt that.

Question for those who got second shot, I know everybody is different but for those who felt the side effects, if any, how long did it take to start and end? Like I know someone who had the Moderna shot and didn't feel the side effects till 6 hours later. Another friend had none whatsoever. So just looking for ballpark Literally overnight. I felt fine the day of getting the shot. Woke up with side effects. Went away again overnight, and I felt 100 percent. It’s not really all that bad all things considered. No respiratory or breathing issues that would cause you to panic

Probably a weird question, but does anyone know of anyone that is pregnant and got the vaccine? My wife is six months pregnant and we've never really received a concrete answer from her doctor as to whether it's safe or not. I read an article on NPR that said studies have shown it's safe, but yeah, it's scary.

I get my second Moderna shot this Saturday. I barely had any side effects at all from the first jab - it was a little sore for a few hours the next day, and then a little itchy the day after that. I keep hearing horror stories about the second dose from friends and family members, but I keep telling them I'll take side effects from the vaccine over actual Covid any day.

The sad part is that it’s so easy to come to that (correct) conclusion.

Curious if anybody's felt that. My brother had Covid and said the 1st shot made him feel terrible. My mom never got Covid, and felt fine after the 1st but felt pretty bad for two days after the 2nd shot. So that theory holds up I think.

I got both Pfizer shots last month, felt like crap after the 2nd one and took a day off from work.

Curious if anybody's felt that. I had covid apparently last year. But had no symptoms. Didn't feel any different. The doc said I might had just been a carrier or a false positive. Taken bout 3 more covid test since then for work, always negative. But the first shot, all it did was hurt my arm, in the shot spot for a couple days

As many of you know I've been working frontlines since the beginning of the pandemic, so I ended up being one of the first vaccinated way back in mid-December (Pfizer if anyone cared). Felt like someone smacked me with a baseball bat in the arm for a good 24 hours both times, but I attributed that more to the nurses administering the shots than the vaccine itself. Aside from a mild headache, didn't really have any major "knock me on my ass" symptoms.
That said, it took over five months to get my wife scheduled for her vaccination this upcoming Friday. While I'm appreciative that we're getting this ball rolling (a little under 20% of the US is vaccinated currently), still a little anxious to get this whole nonsense over and done with seeing as the average timeline to reach optimal immunization won't be until the fall at the earliest. Hopefully production and distribution picks up and reduces that number; I'm following the rules but good lord would it be nice to go to work not having to worry about those damned tight-fitted masks being work all day!

My family is all good to go, my mom and I had to spilt a 10 hour drive to get her vaccine though.
It feels so weird that it's basically over for us.
