In my county were are literally BEGGING people to take it. We can't fill appointments. If we don't use 80% of our doses we'll stop getting more. We have a huge amount of snowbirds that went south last year and never returned because they can pretend it doesn't exist in Florida/Texas and don't want to come back to Iowa. So their doses aren't being used... along with the, um, large % of people that are refusing it. We have people driving in from 200 miles away getting shots. Because we have them in surplus and they are on month+ waiting lists.

As a Canadian in my 30s, I'll probably be eligible to get it some time around fifteen months after I've died from COVID. My province is on fire right now covid-wise and the lockdown measures being employed are laughable. Sigh. I came in to say something similar, I’m 34 and in Manitoba. I expect mine sometime after Christmas. My late 60’s parents finally got booked last week, they get their 1st next week

Locally it isn't hard to get it. But a lot of that is there is a pile of people locally that are not getting it.Some I get they have medical issues where they shouldn't get it. Others are believing every lie online about it. Had one neighbor tell me "They got a tracking chip in it. This is just a way for them to track ya." Looked at him "No ,do you own a smart phone? Cause if you do they can already track you." But then this same guy believes 9/11 was a hoax and all the mass shootings in the past 20 years were fake too.

Got Pfizer part one on Friday. Mild arm soreness right at the injection site. Wife has appointment on Wednesday. Has to be off her rheumatoid arthritis meds for a week before and after. I've been pushing her to do the J&J one-shot one so she doesn't have to be off her meds for basically a whole month but she won't listen to reason. Oh good, I finally convinced my wife to just do the J&J one. Once she gets off her RA meds it rapidly progresses to the point where she needs help doing everyday tasks. It suuuuucks.

Got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning. Nurse told me to expect slight flu like symptoms going away within 24 hours, felt a bit puny for a few hours but that passed and I just have some minor soreness at the injection site.

Vaccinating is still stuttering in Germany and I'm mad about it. My sister got her first dose of AstraZeneca on the day it was first banned here - by the end of the week she was in hospital due to a suspected thrombosis. Now my mother catched the virus and is in rough shape. My grandmother is still not vaccinated although she's beyond 80 years of age. Yesterday I had to get myself tested before isolating for the next two weeks on the second day of my new/old job. The center I got tested at, a woman in obviously expensive clothes passed me by to get vaccinated, which gives me bad vibes. In the end, no virus may distinguish between social classes, but humans still make sure it is a factor.

I will say something and this pains me to say it, but the US has really impressed me lately with the vaccine rollout. I can't believe how butchered it has been by some other larger countries. Locally, on both sides of the river, I've seen nothing but people getting vaccinated. When I went and got mine last week, people were getting their shots before and after me. The nurse or whatever at the pharmacy told me she does nothing but these shots for the past three weeks. I've been taking my mom to her doctor weekly since she got out of the hospital and her doctor's office is in the healthplex which has a lab, convenient care, and some doctor offices. They've been hosting a vaccine clinic daily there for a month. It is almost always full.
Illinois fudged their guidelines a bit a couple of weeks ago when numbers started going up. It allowed counties to jump ahead of the state phase to start vaccinating anyone over 16. While Iowa opened up for business a few weeks ago, from what I've seen, most businesses are still mandating masks and social distancing as they can. I'm cautiously optimistic the numbers will start to go down in a couple of weeks. With the exception of a couple of friends who either have a health issue that prevents it (or at least needs a little more study) or are actively taking fertility treatments (and are still trying to get guidance from that doctor on if one or both of them can get vaccinated), all of my friends and most of my family have had at least one shot. The notable exception being my idiot sister and brother in law who are anti-vax.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CNah6LNnONn Such a relief to have that first shot today. I've felt off-and-on sporadically lightheaded today since and had a few moments where my balance was a little off. I felt like I'd just gotten off a carnival ride, minus the nausea. There was an issue distributing Moderna in my area, so I was told at the last second today that it'd be Pfizer, which is fine. Still can't believe I have it. Also, I tweeted about the location and @'ed X-Pac and Jerry Lynn, so as a bonus they got to reminisce about some hyper local locations.

Got the second Pfizer shot. Almost 24 hours and aside from a sore arm from where the shot was taken, no side effects.

Best thing about "tired" being one of the side effects is that I'm always tired. So I won't know if that's because of the vaccine or because it's a regular day.

Alright, so it's the day after my first Pfizer shot. I've slept most of today and am still in my silk pajamas. I feel tired, but just like day after really intense workout tired. The arm I got the shot on is sore, but just like I'd been using it all day.
Still so glad I got the shot. I hope you get one too.

I had Moderena and had mild to no reactions to either shot, but obviously that's a crap shoot.

Just got my first Moderna on Monday. And then 20 minutes after I got to work today my dad calls and tells me he had(extremely minimal, masked and gloved) contact with someone who tested positive. Despite the minimal chance of a positive, we're isolating and I'm out of work for at least a few days.
