So, this is to counter Takeover right?
Also considering Jericho is in the middle of a face turn it would be dumb for them to interact like they did last time

I don't know, it all depends on how you define progressive. Is it progressive to never hire someone convicted of a crime? Probably not. To me it's a grey area. But in theory, someone who serves time paid their debt to society. Doesn't mean you need to be completely comfortable with them as a television character. As a victim of sexual assault myself, I get that. But I also think there's a line where if someone did pay the price for it, there also needs to be ways for them to rehabilitate themselves back into society. Part of Mike's charm is how he's turned his life around and people like a celebrating a comeback story. Yeah, I can admit I like Mike's story. I do feel bad his victim kind of fell into obscurity without her voice being heard and such. I would be uncomfortable if WWE inducted Lawrence Taylor into their HOF for what he did. For me its a great discussion to have that couldn't be held with NJPW because the feeling are very raw with Will. Outside of making sexual assault of that degree into a life sentence, that's where it isn't so cut and dry with these sorts of things. The victims deserve justice. And survivors of violent sexual assaults get disgustingly little justice in a lot of cases. Yet ex-convicts shouldn't be continuously punished for their crimes after they pay their debt to society. That only leads to more recidivism. Tyson by all accounts has paid that debt and truly rehabilitated into a better person.
And Tyson was already inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame in 2012.

Im more surprised it was only announced right now I dont know if Mike interacts with Jericho, though it'd be interesting to see them bury the hatchet to confront MJF. Feel like this is a Cody thing though, maybe put Ogogo over big time.

I could not care less about Tyson appearing on AEW. I didn't care about him in his prime, either.
That said, I'm also in the camp of believing that Tyson has paid his debt to society and as he seems to be rehabilitated, I'm not mad at AEW for using him.

Just have MJF say that he paid off Tyson to take down Jericho, in order to get revenge on the IC and its also Tyson revenge on Jericho for what happened last year.

Cody and Tyson vs QT and Ogogo for post WM could work, QT ends up getting KOd and pinned, ending the feud for good.

Nice to hear Tyson actively wanted to come back to AEW and work with them. I know people meme that he yawned during the TNT match but it shows he cares more about AEW than people might think.

I'll be interested if he brings back Mr. Cringe himself, Henry Cejudo.

If I could like a post 1000 times for just one sentence, it would be this one. Reminds me of MVP's Ted Talk.

Tyson's been everywhere from talk shows to cartoons to movies to music videos to Shark Week. If AEW are the only ones to catch flack for using Tyson it'd be hypocritical imo. Tyson's been revered as a pop culture icon for decades despite what he's done. And again, AEW used him months ago... so idk how this would suddenly be an issue now. Its hypocritical because they portray themselves as a safe space progressive company. How progressive is it to have a convicted rapist on the show? We get on nXt and NJPW for not canning folks, we should AEW to the same high standard. A company not cutting people with live, active accusations against them from their full time payroll is not the same as a company bringing in someone convicted decades ago for a one-off.

The comments on that twitter post 🤦🤣. All AEW is doing is counter programming NXT who are counter programming Dynamite with a PPV as they can't pop a rating otherwise. WWE fans live in some weird bubble where no one else is allowed to compete without them going crazy. Man anytime wwe does anything special on NXT it’s OMG SO LAME, TRYING TO COUNTER PROGRAM AEW! It’s only fair to get it the other way

As for the comments tt's mainly just trolls trying to bait so it's nothing worth putting stock in anyway.
