I got some of them. Columbia House music CD ads appearing in old issues of WWE Magazines (sometimes complete with titles that had profanity in them). While looking at this site... cmaxcaps.org/index.php/category/wwf-magazine-1984/...I came across an ad for a home security system of some sort. Yeah that really fit in a wrestling magazine. In some 1993 issues of WWE Magazines, there was an ad for Chevy trucks (yes, I’m serious.) though to be fair, Chevy was a sponsor for SSlam 1993 as well as the July 4 US Intrepid Bodyslam challenge In one of the Apter 1994 magazines, there was an ad to buy a gun (PROTECT YOURSELF) as well as an ad that may have been a bit outdated even then. It was for a cable converter box that got up to a whopping...47 channels. I didn’t buy it because my cable system at the time had more than 47 channels (it also wasn’t a box where you can order PPV) What are other ads that you thought looked out of place in wrestling magazines?

Even though there was technically "wrestling" involved, those ads for apartment wrestling that used to appear in the Apter Mags always seemed like something my parents would have taken my wrestling magazines away from me for if they ever happened to see one. As a kid I was always shocked yet intrigued that those were in there.

Some of the more "off-brand" wrestling magazines would offer ads for topless "wrestling" videos.

I always thought some of the softcore woman's wrestling ads in some magazines was kind of out there. I'm guessing most of the 80s and 90s magazines were geared towards adult readers and not children?

I think there was some foxy boxing-type ads too. Kinda flew right over little Rave's head, but now that I know better, it's surprising that those were allowed in there in the first place.

There was the one-page ad for various novelty items, including fake blood, "...used by professional wrestlers"

Weird, I was just thinking about this a couple of weeks ago. Some were so "out there", you'd think this could be a game: "Real or Fake?"
Besides guns, we also have:
a "real" police baton, "authentic" police/detective badges, "create your own ID" kits, "Hammer fists", which were "weight trainers" you wear on your wrists. ("Do not use if you're in an actual fight.")
And my favorite, one that would get my subscription yanked if my parents ever saw it: "How to learn and perform witchcraft!" A full page ad, usually on the last page. (Look, I know the Kevin Sullivan army was still a hot ticket at the time in Florida, but sheesh.)

I had forgotten that ad. Then a few years back there was a PSP show near my birthday. Got as a gift 2 issues of Apter mags from 79 and one from 80. The picture is from one of those mags.

Did Count Dante ever make it to the wrestling magazines? I know the ads were mostly in 70s comics, but there could have been some overlap.

The ad for the Baton reminded me of the X-ray goggles they also sold in 80's Apter mags.
Also I remember specifically in 1993 Apter mags started promoting a wrestling school with various former big name WWF guys. Can't remember if they supposedly trained there or were supposedly trainers there. I just remember as a kid always wondering where you get trained to be a wrestler and being shocked that the answer was finally there in front of my face.

Also I'm wondering how many people actually returned their batons at the end of the 90 day trial

Speaking of ads in wrestling magazines, I found the hyperbole over RF Video's releases of IWA Japan to be over the top. They pretty much implied they were the goriest, bloodiest, most messed up wrestling out there. Sure King of the Deathmatch had some pretty gruesome stuff, but the ads made it sound like some underground, barely legal thing.
