As expected, WWE NXT won the night in Viewership and Dynamite was down slightly. I think there'd be more shock if it was the other way around considering it was a TakeOver
Still beat NXT in demo, was still 5th on the night, and demo went up from last week. That's a win for them going into unopposed Wednesdays imo.

Expected them to be between 650K and 700K. Now next week is the real test to see what their baseline unopposed audience will be. I’m thinking around 900-950K to start, creeping over a million later in the spring/summer.

Yeah, nothing too surprising here. The demo being up though is a good sign and this definitely seems like the floor for them in total viewers. Glad this war is finally over.

I expected AEW to be down but do people genuinely not like wrestling that much? PPV on free TV and it barely picks up viewers. I wonder what happened to the people who were watching when AEW/NXT were doing 900 to 800k on a weekly basis.
I get that there is a streaming service but it is kind of shocking. I thought NXT would do 900k easily.

Considering this is the last week of the "Wednesday Night Wars"...well, let's all join in on a sing song.

I hope some growth from.now on, how much will deoend on the quality bit I still think they need something that catches on fire for people to return to the 800k zone

I'm guessing they're only going to get to around 830,000ish next week. There doesn't really seem to be too much overlap between the NXT and AEW fanbases anyway and the show just doesn't have a lot of momentum right now. Think these giant-ass waits between PPVs are starting to lead to people declaring the first couple of months after each one to be useless.

Other things on cable, interest in what both products are doing now, and in NXT's case severe lack of WWE's care or advertisement for it, have lead to a current lull in the ratings Both seperating from one another is bound to help.

Not shocking. While it was a good episode of Dynamite. Was quite clear AEW was not putting a top product against Takeover

I dont know if AEW will ever expand to Six PPVs a year, Khan doesn't want to seemingly and more rely on the TV Specials, but overall there are essentially 600-700k free game viewers for both AEW and NXT to get being on different days now given what the normal split is, if AEW/NXT even got 200-300k for that average it's a sure fire win.

Hopefully both shows having dedicated nights will bring the viewers back. I think a big part will be the lack of crowds but obviously that can't be helped at the minute.

TBH I thought NXT would've won the demo on this on top of viewership. Outside of a last minute Mike Tyson appearance being announced, it felt like AEW was taking a knee against NXT holding its Takeover event.
But I'm glad the NXT vs AEW fanboy dickslap "wars" are over. Starting next week, fans of good wrestling can enjoy both shows live.

NXT most likely would’ve won the demo if not for the streaming of the event on Peacock. If you were watching live, there was really no reason to watch on USA when you can watch commercial free on Peacock. And in the case of West Coast viewers, they could watch live on Peacock at 5 pm instead of on tape delay at 8 pm.

The total viewers are about what I expected, but I'm shocked that they bumped up a place in the top ten and improved in the demo with that number. Did a whole lot of people just suddenly stop watching live TV for a few weeks, or are the top four siphoning away a huge number of viewers?

If we're going by this, it seemed like a dominant night for the NBA and whatever this MTV show is in terms of demos so...*shrug*. I'm not an expert on these things, just saw that earlier and thought to put it here.

Did a whole lot of people just suddenly stop watching live TV for a few weeks, or are the top four siphoning away a huge number of viewers? The Challenge literally drew a .49 in the Key Demo this week, it's always number one, always drawing close to a million viewers The upside for AEW? It will be ending soon. Other than that the NBA loves taking top spots and getting about a million as well and it did so again. In the end AEW was always expected to lose total viewership this week but it going up in Demo despite all of that is a big win for them.
