Also Tamina had 2 matches at this years Mania.
Tamina. Bayley got 0.
Who asked for that?

Also Tamina had 2 matches at this years Mania. Tamina. Bayley got 0. Who asked for that? Vince probably called the Rock and asked what it would take to get him to wrestle Roman at next year's Mania and the Rock said 'Sure I'll come back for next year's Mania but only if all my active relatives wrestle in this one... oh and Tamina wrestles twice." Rock said a joke. Vince took it seriously.

I'm glad Roman won, that was 100% the right booking decision in my opinion, although I didn't think WWE would have the discipline to go with it. Neither Edge or Bryan felt like they had the right story or momentum coming into the match to take the belt. The only reason to switch the title would have been to pop the crowd for a 'moment'. But then you're left with a directionless Edge or Bryan as champion. Roman, on the other hand, is really over and nailing his character so it's better to keep it on him and build up his dominant reign for a proper pay-off, dropping it to a hot face at some point in the coming year.
Knowing that result, I'm surprised WWE booked so many heels to win in the undercard. Maybe moving Sheamus vs. Riddle or Big E vs. Apollo to night 1 might helped?

Roman winning was fine. Roman winning via Uso run-in for the 27th time, was not

She is. Almost destroyed Asuka's face at the contract signing like 2 weeks ago. Then she literally turned on Asuka last week in the tag match

Meh. I was happy with the results.
Lashley and Roman winning were the right calls. Roman losing the title this early would be stupid.
Bianca got the big moment and Riddle/Sheamus kicked ass. Way better than I ever expected. Apollo winning was also the right call considering his new character is just getting started... Rhea also had to win cause if she choked twice at Mania, that would probably kill her career dead before it even gets started.

Welcome to the WWE where faces are idiots and never win And then the company wonders why we cheer the heels.

They went with logical booking over happy moments for the sake of it in some cases.
I can't hate on it completely

The thing is if Edge won last night then what he loses the belt back to Reigns at the next PPV that benefits no one while Reigns has Cesaro, Nakamura & Rey that can keep him busy til Summerslam

I think it was just how significant those heel wins were; it made them stick out more.
Go with Roman OR Lashley retaining, but not both- the faces losing both male world title matches was super deflating for the significance of this event.
Lashley I can get behind, cause it happened first and he just got the belt; he deserves a nice dominant run.
Roman has got that run, and has just had his way with no comeuppance for 7 and a half months now. You even had an out where he didn't have to even get pinned.
Also Orton winning made negative sense. Just, wow. Horrible decision. Horrible.

Yep. It’s reached the point where it’ll be hard to get into the next match, whatever it is. We already know the finish. Like I said in the other thread on the subject, Roman needs to lose the next defense in order to stop this being a JBL or Jinder tier reign. The only thing separating this from Jinder's reign is that Roman's character work is good. However they're making the babyfaces look like absolute clowns that somehow don't expect interference I don't get how this applies to last night at all. One of the first things Edge did was drop Jey Uso directly on his head cause he expected him to interfere. It didn't work out for him but he didn't not see it coming.

I agree with Cultaholic when they said Night One seemed to be a celebration of having fans back, Night Two was when they went to work. I'm happy with the heels winning.

I must be weird. I really can't say that the booked winner of a match has very much effect on my enjoyment, especially at a supposed 'conclusion' event like Mania.

With Lashley and Roman it’s damned if you do, damned if you don’t imo. None of them should have lost their titles yet imo, but you do want the feel good endings to mania, especially this mania.

If you still believe that faces winning = everyone feels good, then I don't know what to tell you. You haven't been on the internet enough I guess.
Not sure who this thread is aimed at, but I'd guess virtually bases who they'd like to see win purely on alignment.

Heels give a good fight, but they ultimately have to lose in the end. You run with the heels continually winning with no hope for the faces, you end up with a situation like The Authority, who never really suffered a true setback.

In 2021, what % of the audience is completely devoted to wanting to see the heels lose and the faces win? The idea that this is Misery Mania, but that includes a decent chunk of matches where the person people wanted to win, won (Lashley, Rhea Ripley, not-Tamina, Sheamus, Roman). Who's miserable about it?

Who's miserable about it? How is anyone really supposed to answer that without surveying the entire audience, though? Like, the only people who'd have any understanding of that would be WWE and NBC/FOX with their access to data that even the usual websites that cover this stuff don't have?
