I liked him from what I heard. Totally unremarkable with a good grasp of what's happening and a hella good voice is a good place to start from.

I almost immediately missed Tom Phillips’ actual calling of wrestling moves and signature holds as soon as everything became just ‘a big slam.’ ☹️

Remember, there's always that thought in the back of your mind.....
When they put Adnan in a storyline and he has to get into the ring.

I hope he gets better...u have to stand out if your gonna be the lead play by play guy and nothing about him stands out. It was awkward to how they seemed to all 3 be color guys and no one really leading the way. Vince has always wanted 1 main guy so I expect to see some changes with his style or time or he won’t last more than 6 months.

Just finished watching Raw. When Vince McMahon has a better knowledge of wrestling moves, that's a bad start. Not saying that you need to be able to identify a twisting springboard 450 destroyer, but you should be able to at least describe the move to me the best you can. Schiavone in AEW when he has to do pure PBP, he doesn't know every move, especially the newer ones, but he knows enough to adequately describe what's happening.
This is what I can remember Virk calling: slam (a lot of moves were just slams regardless of what type), splash, clothesline, chokeslam (for Priest's South of Heaven), headlock (as Lashley was setting up his suplex), knee, dropkick, spinning leg kick (apparently he loved Heroes of Wrestling), shoulder tackle.
I remember when Adamle did commentary and Tazz basically had to do PBP and colour, this was basically the same with Virk and Corey tonight. Hopefully, this encourages Virk to improve like Scott Stanford did on Superstars (who was equally terrible when he started but the needling from Punk made him do a lot of research, to the point he started referencing Yuji Nagata on commentary).

Adnan was on the Dan Le Batard show talking about his experiences. A couple of points:
- He was happy that his not being particularly tall (5"8) was finally beneficial to him.
- He feels that Byron and Corey saved him a lot, but looks forward to them getting time to prepare and banter together. He compared it to his baseball-commentary where he got to form a closer connection with his co-commentator by spending hours shooting the s**t while watching footage.
- He had Michael Cole and Kevin Dunn offering suggestions and feedback during the broadcast, with Cole offering particularly useful advice. He appreciates the possibility to have mid-performance feedback (comparing it to a theatrical performer only being able to hear thoughts on their acting after the show) feels it was helpful to hear feedback that was both blunt (he gave the example of having 'Hurt Lock!' barked to him) and supportive.

Two small notes:
A) Nick Khan, who is Vince's right hand man now, was Virk's agent at one time so he has a huge supporter to keep him safe.
B) this from the Observer:
New WWE Raw lead announcer Adnan Virk said on a radio show Thursday that he has yet to meet Vince McMahon.
During a regular spot on "Boomer In The Morning" on Canadian sports radio's SN960, Virk said he didn't meet the chairman during WrestleMania weekend or Monday when he made his debut.
He had previously said he didn't meet McMahon during his audition, but that president Nick Khan and Michael Cole both vouched for him as the group watched audition tapes. During the Thursday appearance, he said McMahon didn't have any idea who he was going into the audition, but liked his voice and presentation so he went with Khan and Cole's recommendation.
He's said he is sure McMahon was taking notes for how he can improve and joked that when he does meet McMahon, he wants to talk about Demolition.
Virk joked about making the rookie mistake of leaving his phone on the announce table during Monday's show and it getting shattered during the main event during a spot through the table.
In talking about the audition, he said Cole told him his look and his height was good as it would make the talent look bigger which McMahon loves. At 5'8", Virk joked that's the first time he has ever been told that's a positive.
MLB Network had to sign off on Virk moving ahead with WWE and that he couldn't say no to the opportunity. He was contacted in late-2020 as WWE was interested in bringing on a sportscaster. He hadn't been watching WWE on a weekly basis, but started in January and studied like he would for calling a hockey game, getting information from WWE's website. His audition was in early-February, a process he said was "amazing."

For a first time, he did very well. He will only get better as he gains experience calling wrestling. He got a good voice for it. Now its just a matter of experience to get that seasoning of being more comfortable in the role.

I guess Adnan Virk has a deal that's different from the other announcers. He's still hosting shows on the NHL Network. I turned on the NHL Network about a half-hour ago and he was on there hosting the studio pregame show. It seems like he's not exclusively a WWE employee like their other announcers.

Scott Stanford has the same sort of deal. He hosts the occasional small Network or YouTube show but 99% of the time, he's still doing the news show in New York state he's co-hosted for years.

Not because he posts here and seems like a really nice dude. I'd love Ian Riccaboni to call Raw.

Him saying that Braun once flipped over a car with Roman inside just felt so weird because no one else on these shows ever refers to stuff like that. And I'm not entirely sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing but Vince is definitely going to beat it out of him soon.

He'd be better off doing kickoff panels or backstage interviews.
