I was thinking just yesterday how Ric Flair needed a movie about his life. There's a lot of material there.

I struggle to see how you'd even do a movie of Ric Flair. Do you stop it with him coming back from the plane crash? Winning the Rumble? WCW going under? WrestleMania 24? Him slumming it in TNA? I feel like you either end the story at a really arbitrary point that doesn't really tell the whole story or you just keep going into an endless cycle of him being a massive f***-up and then things going quiet for a bit while he regains respectability until he does something stupid again.

That depends on if you absolutely have to make a cradle-to-Ric Flair Drip movie. I’d just start with the plane crash and stop it around WM24, maybe throw in the Offset stuff at the very end.

I was also thinking it would be tough to come up with a good ending. It's amazing that Jake Roberts and Razor Ramon have a happy enough ending for a hollywood movie but Ric Flair does not. His movie would probably be even worse than the Rourke Wrestler movie because at least the Marissa Tomei character comes to see Randy the Ram. Flair has burned so many bridges that I think when it comes down to the wire I'm not so sure he could count on anyone. He would probably be beyond the point of being able to be used for money making purposes, sad to say, so a lot of the fairweather friends might not be there. I can see Arn finally coming to see him in real life and in a hollywood ending.
If it were 20 years earlier I would have said 1990s Marlon Brando for Ole Anderson. He was balding, heavyset and beyond miserable. I would say Ole is a much kinder person because he was known for being approachable to fans at various conventions. Brando was kind to close friends who well known for being unapproachable to fans.

Id do it starting off at the plane crash, flash back to his early life in the hospital, then have it end with him beating Dusty in 81 for his first world title, mess about some stories so you can fit them in from his recovery to his title win, you have yourselves a classic, the second film can be about his WWF run.

Funnily enough....I could see a Bret Hart biopic.
Frame structure. The frame is the bicycle accident/stroke in 2005; as he recovers, the film goes back through his life and all the guys (and gals) he met along the way. Have among the ending shots Stu's funeral with the pews packed with those who'd gone, and those who would die after that funeral.
Have the last shot somewhere in Hawaii where Bret and Kevin are shooting the shit and counting their personal blessings after so much loss.
Or, let's have a proper Von Erich biopic.
