Think in terms of what they did for the first hour, show was structured well enough where the bigger stuff was up front so people can catch up and see the Darby match on DVR like how Cena/Styles/Ambrose started that one No Mercy because of the debate later on in the night. I'm still baffled that they closed on Orton / Wyatt instead of Miz / Ziggler.

People clearly tuned in to see Mitch Marner and bailed when all they got was Ted Irvine's kid.

This was the last of the challenge this week also right? I believe so. So in theory, AEW could be number one next week. Between that and no President speech. Plus the card being stacked I would be shocked if it NOT over a Million easily.

MIZ WAS ON THE FREAKING POSTER RAAAGGHHHH Now I realize I still have rage within me about Miz/Ziggler not main eventing this show. Wyatt/Orton is maybe a top 5 feud with the least amount of even tolerable matches for how long it goes I can think of lmao

Figured as much that would be the case given the Biden address. The bigger test is next week

I flipped back and forth between this and the Red Sox-Mets game, which was pretty damn good.

Barring any breaking news next week they should be back at over a million

The Challenge is still on next week. It’s the reunion part 2.
Still expecting a record breaking rating from AEW, though because of Blood and Guts.

Looks like Joe Biden's a draw, brother! He drew a 81,283,098 rating last November. 😂😂😂 (my laughter is at how much I enjoyed seeing that number in black and white. It’s gorgeous.)

Looks like Joe Biden's a draw, brother! Time to strap up that young whippersnapper Joe Biden. He’s ready for the main event.

I do kinda like the rating stayed relatively high as the night went on. Penta and Orange getting the largest viewership is pretty damn cool. And despite the Biden speech, the main event also did great. So I think despite the overall rating being down, it does seem like there is a good general interest in what’s going on AEW.

Definitely not the numbers I would have predicted - figured Page/Cage to start would have done better, in particular. Semi-surprised that the numbers climbed so much for Penta/Orange, but I guess that's a testament to the popularity of both. Second hour is all above average numbers for Wednesday Night War shows, so the benefits of the NXT move are still there. I'm curious if the speech and/or the Challenge finale caused more channel-changing, or if there were just fewer people who planned to watch tonight due to knowing that they'd leave halfway through.

Q1: 803,000 viewers and 403,000 in 18-49 with Team Taz attacking Adam Page, Brian Cage vs. Adam Page and The Elite in the limo Q2: 874,000 viewers and 427,000 in 18-49 with the Young Bucks vs. Sydal Brothers and Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian coming out after. Q3: 898,000 viewers and 421,000 in 18-49 for a Jade Cargill promo piece and the beginning of Orange Cassidy vs. Penta. The main event peaked 18-49 and 18-34. 8pm 300k people were looking for the Biden speech and saw it was on at 9pm, so about 75k-100k turned back to Dynamite, while 200k left it on the news station. By 8:30 they were like, well what's going on, oh OC and Penta, got to watch this, almost 180k had TNT on that were on another station at 8pm, then the speech starts at like 9:05, so a bunch go back, but like 70k stay with the show, and by the main event more than 100k of the 300k were back. So 33% of the audience who did not plan to watch AEW that night because of the speech or some other show, were watching it by the main event. I'm used to wrestling show's ratings falling, especially when something else is on, but it seems like AEW had the ability to grow the watching audience and attract people back from whatever station they went to.
