Thought of this after finding out White Sox fans were chanting for Justin Fields being drafted by the Bears last night. All-in-all, Chicago is about the Bears. The city has been lucky to enjoy all their teams winning titles in 35 years (from the Bears to the Cubs, including the MLS Fire). But a Super Bowl is what fans here crave most.
So I ask of you, where you live, what championship is the most important as a whole? (I added "other" for both Americans and non-Americans in case I missed something. Maybe F1 or EPL is your location's thing. Or Aussie football is your deal. Americans, is an NCAA title more important than all the above? Let's hear from y'all!)

Yeah.... I think Chicago is definitely a Bears (and to a lesser extent a Blackhawks) town. The Cubs and Sox kind of cancel each other out (although a Crosstown World Series might set the city on fire). The Cubs winning was so huge because it had been so damn long. However, when the Bears and Blackhawks are good..... the city is crazy. When they aren't, the city is pissed! LOL

The Bulls, unfortunately, are just in a lull. I think the only time the city was NOT a Bears time was in the 90s with Jordan and the Bulls. You could not sniff a ticket to Chicago Stadium/UC in those days. I remember my Uncle was supposed to get my tickets in the early 90s and had an actual connection with the Bulls. I'm still waiting on those tickets.... and he had connections. LOL

SRO against the Atlanta Hawks, whose biggest "star" then was Christian Lattner.

As a Chicagoan, right now it’s probably a Super Bowl. Though I don’t think anything can top the Cubs winning it all. I’ve seen a World Series, 6 NBA Championships and 3 Stanley Cups. Im not a White Sox fan but I did root for them when they won the series in 2005. I missed out of the 85 Bears by 9 months. So that’s the last thing I need to see to feel complete as a Chicago sports fan.

I’d say the Stanley Cup since the Red Wings have won so many of them.

Dallas lives and dies by the Cowboys and it's been so long since they've won a Super Bowl I fear the reaction should they ever win another.
Them making it and losing could be a lot of fun though.

Right now, I think the Patriots have surpassed the Red Sox as the darlings of Boston, but there's still nothing like late summer and early fall when the Red Sox are in contention. The fans don't live and die with every pitch like they did prior to 2004, but you can tell the enthusiasm is still there when the pennant race matters. And they still captivate the attention of fans when they're making a legitimate run, like they did in 2018. So I'll say World Series ever so slightly over Super Bowl.
But a sneaky runner-up is the Stanley Cup. It's hard to explain what the summer of 2011 was like after the Bruins won the Stanley Cup. Maybe it was because they hadn't hoisted the Cup since 1970, but that Cup run was magical. It captured the attention of EVERYONE in New England. People still wax nostalgic about nights at the bars watching those playoff games. And after the Bruins won, it felt like a solid two months of Bruins players being seen partying out and about in Boston and being lauded as celebrities and conquering heroes.

If Iowa or Iowa State won the college football National Championship the state would shut down until the hangover passed. So about 5 days.

My town is only in one thing... But we won it five years ago for the first time ever so it basically stopped the place for like a week.

St. Louis I would say the World Series but......The Stanley cup win in 2019 for the first time was a whole different level. I know we have had the World Series 11 times and even when they won it the first time after a several decade drought. I don't think the 06 was anything like what I saw in 2019. Hard to vote because how important winning that cup was and changed a lot of things.

I know personally I'm a die hard Magic fan and them finally getting over the hump after failing in the finals twice would mean the most for me but for most other locals who grew up in Central Florida a NCAA Championship for whichever state college football team they root for would be the most important.

I live in Dallas. While people around here would love to see the Rangers take the World Series or the Stars get another Stanley Cup, they'd move Heaven and Earth for another Super Bowl win.
Looks like they're going to have to keep dreaming.

I'm a lifelong Tri-stater and currently live right across the Hudson from Manhattan.
Around here, it's the World Series, full stop. The Yankees consider it their birthright, and the whole region lights up in the years where the Mets make a deep run. Baseball is the sport of kings here.
Like, the Giants have won the Super Bowl twice in recent memory and...it was a big celebration, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't the same thing as a run for baseball. Basketball is probably the sport with the most lopsided fanbases in this area, as the Knicks are consistently more popular than the Nets (maybe that's changed in recent years with how bad the Knicks usually are?) and thus would mean a huge celebration if they won the NBA title, but it's just not the same draw as the Mets/Yankees are. And hockey, much as I love it, is the clear #4 sport in the NYC-metro area in terms of engagement; you could listen to a full day of NYC sports radio and barely hear it mentioned, much as that hurts to admit.
So yeah, you don't have the history here of the Dodgers, Giants, Yankees, Mets, and multiple Negro League teams and *not* be a gigantic baseball hotbed.
EDIT: I should clarify, it's also tough to measure here sometimes due to this being the only market with so many teams in each league. I mean, SoCal is there now that there are multiple NFL teams and the rest, but it's always funny to me to see other areas where there might be multiple teams in some sports, but only one team for the others, like how Chicago has the Cubs and White Sox but only has one team each for the other Big Four leagues.
It's just...around here, there's just no sport where everybody unites behind a single team, even if there are some years now and then when the entire area might unite behind one for a given reason (e.g. Jets fans cheering on the Giants to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl).

Sacramento, so NBA. The city would go insane if the team made the 8-seed at this point, I can’t imagine the celebration if they won the whole thing.

Hard to vote because how important winning that cup was and changed a lot of things. 2011 I'd say was a lot like 2019. The difference being the parade for the Cup was an entirely different experience. But both of those runs were magical and incredibly unlikely. Just fly by the seat of your pants craziness for months. At this point the Blues might be more loved than the Cards tbh. Mozeliak has spent a lot of goodwill the last decade that bringing in Arenado does not make up for. I'd say the Cup means more at this point, which I never thought I'd say especially after getting the 1st one out of the way.
