In other news, the league can EAD for how they've decided to treat the JaWuan James situation. For those unfamiliar with this story, James, a lineman for the Broncos, recently tore his Achilles while working out at a facility not connected to the Broncos team or the NFL. As such, the Broncos can legally deny James his $10 million signing bonus, as per his contract with the team. Not that I would exactly blame or point the finger at the Broncos specifically, because the harsh truth is sports is a money game in large part. It has to be treated like a business, especially by team owners. However, the reason I'm mad at the league is that they sent a memo to all 32 teams yesterday, conveniently reminding them that they don't have to pay any bonuses to any player injured away from official team sites. That's some BS that's very close to collusion, and why I'm pointing one particular finger at the shield itself. That's the really greasy moves on the NFL's part. They are very "convincing" about voluntary OTAs/workouts, but if they can get out of paying a guy who is trying to keep himself in shape, they will not hesitate. The owners want a very one-sided league, and for the most part, the union just lets them have that. Like the 17-game season. I'm convinced DeMaurice Smith is a stooge and the NFLPA won't ever show any sort of backbone until they get new leadership.

He is a f***ing stooge NFL has gotten away with a lot but in the interest of "fairness" Smith has gotten away with a ransom and escaped blame for his stupidity. Get him outta there and the NFLPA will be a lot better for it. He's stealing money from the players

Colts are signing Eric Fisher to 1 year deal worth close to 10 mill to be their LT.
Good luck to the big man but no idea if he'll be ready to start the season.

Oh lord, how long until people that claim they quit watching football "years ago" seriously start clamoring for him to be the starting QB over Lawrence?
Probably negative seconds from now
I already feel sorry for Trevor.

Urban Meyer's already pulling favors for his boy. Tebow own stubborness kept him out the league this long It only took your own coach doing a favor for you to get back in the league and stop acting like you can play Baseball. No reason Tebow couldn't have been a FB/TE this whole time Then again, smart on him since he didn't put his body through a ton of stress over these years

Rodgers has every right to demand what he wants The Packers were only ever good because of Rodgers despite them never drafting or signing talent for him. It is real simple, trade him. GB made their decision last year when they decided to trade up to draft a QB. A-Rod and Farve situation is not the same. So what should the Packers have done to appease Rodgers? Outspend to re-sign the likes of Jordy Nelson ($15 million to the Raiders) and Randall Cobb ($5 million to the Cowboys)? Because they cut ties with them at the right time, right as they started tailing off. Not draft a quarterback in the first round when the then-36-year-old Rodgers had just thrown for his fewest touchdowns and had his lowest quarterback rating in back-to-back seasons since 2008? Not use draft picks to try to *gasp* build a defense or offensive line, rather than placate Rodgers with WeApOnS like that beloved all-world talent Jake Kumerow? The Green Bay Packers will exist after Aaron Rogers retires, that's why the Packers drafted their heir apparent in Jordan Love. Sorry if that caused a 36-year-old man to turn into a three-year-old child and throw a tantrum, but those are the facts. There needed to be a succession plan for life after Rodgers. Look at the Patriots - they had no concrete succession plan for life after Tom Brady, they threw Cam Newton at the wall and hoped he stuck, struggled to a 7-9 season, and are now relying on Mac Jones to be the savior. Conversely, look at how Tom Brady handled it when the Patriots drafted his (supposed) successor in Jimmy Garoppolo in 2014. He didn't pout and demand a trade, he recommitted himself and put together a six-year run that was among the best in his career and won three Super Bowls before leaving on his own terms. If Rodgers wants to go play in Denver or Las Vegas, the Packers should await a king's ransom and accept it when it comes. Because the bounty should be plentiful if those draft picks are two or three years down the line when a 39- or 40-year-old Rodgers is on his way out or already retired. Tom Brady didn't pout? Huh? Might wanna double check that story.

Honestly? Although it was nothing more than a publicity stunt, I wouldn’t say Tebow embarrassed himself on the diamond. Certainly not good enough for a call up to the show, BUT he did a lot better than I thought.
