Being bad at your job plus being a liability to the entire team because you won’t get vaccinated means you’re not for long under Bill Belichick.
As a Patriots fan, I thank Cam Newton for trying his best and being a good soldier and never openly complaining about his situation, despite being thrown into a franchise with lackluster offensive weapons with only two months to prepare. That said, he made the situation untenable by not improving in the slightest and flouting the vaccine. It’s a sour end that was totally avoidable but was entirely Cam’s own fault.

I assume Cam is probably going to be getting the most phonecalls if a starter blows out their knee in the first week or three.
Or do you guys think this is "the end"?

Somewhat surprised but not really
If Cam wasn’t starting he wasn’t going be on the team. The endearing nicknames have been cute but he had a stigma as a bad teammate early in his career and sulking on the bench
He should get picked up somewhere as a backup. At the very least you can use him as an end zone QB

He’s done as a full time starter It’s up to him if he can put his ego to the side and be a backup in the league. Im sure plenty of teams would love him as a backup and he can probably stretch his career another few years that way The arm isn’t there anymore but he can still basically be used as a goal line QB.

I honestly did not see that coming. Even with Mac being their Day 1, I thought Cam would be kept as a security blanket.
A lot of Falcons fans are chirping that Atlanta should sign Cam. How about the Carolina Panthers? Can you go home again? They don't even have a potential starter at QB, unless they're banking on Sam Darnold shaping up to his potential as a 1st round pick (that he couldn't do while on the Jets.) It is possible, but other than that, Panthers got nothing.

I think Panthers want to give Darnold every chance to succeed as with Cam being a hometown favorite, if he comes back, the min Darnold struggles they calling his name It wasn't all Darnold fault with the Jets as Wilson has a much better offense in year 1 than Sam ever had in his 3 years here. But he has bad habits with the Football

Cam can be an excellent backup somewhere Well he could’ve been an excellent back up on the team he’s was on until a couple of hours ago but he’s not. I never expected them to release cam but after his covid misunderstanding “annoyed key people” in Foxboro and mac Jones having a nice night against the giants, I was sure that cam wouldn’t be the starter, but the braintrust in Foxboro decided otherwise.

I swear Mac Jones looks like he would be a bench player in 'Hoosiers'.

Well it's official a new era of AFC East football is here, no starting QB over the age of 25. In all my years as a Jets fan this division has been ruled by one team, the Pats, since their regin began in 01 the other 3 teams have combined for 3 title wins (1 for each) it's weird to think that no one knows who will be the new king of the East by the end of the 20s.
Will the Bills keep rising or do they turn back into a pumpkin? Is Tua, Zach and Mac the answer for any of these teams? And how will the back end of BBs HOF coaching career be remembered, will he show that he can take any QB and make them a constant in the playoffs or will starting over at the most important position be his downfall?
Honestly who knows and that's the fun and exciting part of all this, this division has been a forgone conclusion for 20 years, and now it's finally up for grabs again

Cam can be an excellent backup somewhere Dallas?I mean why not Would save Dak on goal line possessions and not risk more injuries with him and an effective backup just in case Dak has to miss time

Cam actually had COVID and he was actually pretty sick, so his being an idiot about the vaccine is even more baffling.

Gotta admit I'm a little stunned by the news. I was rooting for Mac to win the job but the way the preseason was going I was sure Cam was getting the job. While his Covid case may have added to the decision I don't think Bill would throw Mac to the wolves like this if he didn't think Mac was ready.

So Mac, Zach, and Trevor all penciled in for week 1, now the question becomes when do Fields and Lance join the fun
