He’s like Big E where I wouldn’t change nothing about him to send him up to the main event. Both of them represent diff aspects of African American culture without being the angry black man. They are unique and whole in themselves and you love to see it I like Big E a lot more, but Ford's pretty solid, too. I dig the guy.

He needs to be given a chance but I just don't see him as a can't miss talent. He needs to get over without this current gimmick and he needs to show more flexibility character wise. [br Why does he need to change his gimmick? Can just transition over to singles in his current form, much like Big E and Kofi did, and like Riddle is doing now.

[br Why does he need to change his gimmick? Can just transition over to singles in his current form, much like Big E and Kofi did, and like Riddle is doing now. I just don't see it as a main event gimmick to just take everything about the Street Profits and just do it on his own and I think he needs to show more versatility as a performer. Also, Riddle was always mainly a singles guy who would sometimes join odd couple tag teams. Big E and Kofi were their own guys for years prior to tag runs. Montez has just been a tag guy since we've seen him. I think he needs to show something else aside from what he does now to take that next step. It doesn't need to be drastically different. But Roman going from the Shield to the Big Dog to the Head of the Table were all different iterations and each helped him get to that next level.

I see no reason why we couldn't have Montez have a singles run backed up by Dawkins at ringside, the guy has what it takes to step up without having to change his gimmick up too much if at all. Wasn't really sure on him in NXT but strangely he seems more comfortable on the main roster.

He can do a lot of great things in the ring. The next step is on both creative and himself - they need to get the crowd truly invested in his rise and make them desperate for him to succeed. He needs a storyline to get that emotional investment.

He's fun enough to watch in the ring. I just don't see a serious singles push without a significant gimmick change and adjustment to his wrestling style. His current persona is perfect for entertaining the live audience, but it's not going to get casual viewers invested in the outcome of his matches.

just let his moveset be an amalgamation of legendary wrestler's finishers. next week, he Hulks Up and hits the AA as a transitional move
edit: also wanted to add that this dude is awesome and needs more shine. great performance last night, was hoping he would last to the final 2

I could see him getting a U.S. Title run later this year. Handling the ‘breakup’ with Dawkins will be interesting whether they get a betrayal angle or just go separate ways. Considering I'm thinking The Uso’s might be done after Mania I’m not sure if WWE is willing to break up both right now.

He’s a bit spastic. And I’ve thought he might make a better heel than face, one issue might be his offense..
But yeah, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with him and Dawkins. Trips is in charge but I dunno if they’ll radically have the dudes go into singles and remain friends as a tag team. He’s got a hell of an upside though.

Some of the Attitude Era homages were kind of weird, but he's clearly going to be a big top singles guy. I don't think you put him back in the Profits gear after last night, tbh.
Part of me wonders if the crotch chops were just nervous energy, tbh.

Also, these dudes can’t curse or flip someone off , so I wonder if the crotch chop is the next best thing in being like “f*** Yea/You!” In the ring lol. Ko does it a lot too lol, is the crotch chop coming back?! Oh damn

Like I said in another thread, he's in "no mans land" right now so I just assume the crotch chops were easy go to since he doesn't have any real ones himself. Once he gets reps as a singles, it will be second nature to go from move to move without thinking It is akin to when Randy Orton turned face and he knew no other way to get over as a babyface besides constantly posing

I can only assume the crotch chops were to build his special meter really, really quickly.
That dive from the top of the cage, man, that was wild. Looked great.

Hopefully they build off last night. Tone down the character's obnoxiousness a bit and get rid of some of the tribute act parts of his in ring work and he's going to be something special.
I don't even think the Profits need to split up either (even though I expect Dawkins to turn on him either tomorrow or in the next couple weeks), but they've done just about everything there is to do on the main roster as a tag team. Dawkins should get a good singles run, too.

Him spamming the taunt button aside, there were those moments last night where he just looked at the crowd and you could hear that visceral "we are very down for you as a singles star" pops immediately

If Gunther makes it pasts Mania with the IC title, Montez would be a great choice to beat him for it.

I would like to see Tez develop a bit more of a distinct character, but he's got literally everything else down.
