At least that seems to be the case. Maffew's most current Botchamania channel was hit with strikes over the past week or so from AEW. After appealing and contacting them, the strikes were supposedly removed, however as of today, the account is gone due again to copyright.

mod edit, updating the title as it's youtube to blame

Copyright abuse is not a good look for any company, and AEW really need to sort this out not just for Maffew but for all the other channels hit recently if they don't want to lose people's goodwill. This is an easy way to stop people giving you social media attention.

What seems to be the case with these companies, WWE and AEW especially, is that a lot of it is done not by themselves but by bots who track said footage, something that actually goes against the TOS for YouTube (and also something YouTube hasn't made easy for companies to do but that's a completely different issue altogether).
So it's more crappy that it's not seen as a priority for these companies to do to just hire people to track this stuff instead of having the "always fair and balanced" bots do it.

He got striked last week and he talked with people in AEW and the strikes taken down. I’m wondering if this more of YouTube’s fault than AEW. Like AEW’s own channels we’re getting copyright strikes on YouTube and one of Sammy’s vlogs was taken down because of it.

The automated system took down botchamania, AEW have said they're retracting the strikes, but youtube, being youtube, are dragging their heels on correcting it because it's not run by a celebrity. Youtube only moves at any sort of speed to fix unjust bans when pressured on social media.

Let's not forget, AEW's own channel had videos removed last week when the last Botchamania was taken down. Videos they own the copyright to. It's bots. Clickbait, much?

Yeah, the YouTube copyright situation is a minefield. It's almost certainly bots. YouTube don't care.

I’m sure it was supposed to be a gimmicked copyright strike but something went wrong

And the evidence for this you have is….? YouTube bot doesn't fill out copyright forms. Plus there are other channels that show full aew shows and don't get the hammer

Plus there are other channels that show full aew shows and don't get the hammer Because a lot of those channels have ways to dodge the copyright measures in place like putting other stuff in the middle, messing with the audio or even just say they’re not making money from it. You can watch full WWE PPVs and matches because people have done this. Doesn’t mean the bots still don’t mess with other people who don’t do anything remotely close to that.
