So is AEW striking down their own videos now as well as their own talent? Yea, probably. This is the wrestling industry, they're all insane Well, I’ve seen more evidence of someone in AEW (Aubrey) talking with Maffew personally about another time it went down then I have of whatever you’re saying but I guess believe what you want to.

He himself said,Matthew, that AEW withdrew the strikes but that youtube didnt do shit about it. So I guess Matthew is lying too here:

This is why Youtube is a f***ing terrible platform, all things considered. It's way too easy to game the algorithms to abuse the automated DMCA strikes. And while the upper crust of content producers can lawyer up and scare YT with litigation into undoing the damage, most smaller content producers don't have the money or the resources to do it.

I’m sure it was supposed to be a gimmicked copyright strike but something went wrong Don't worry, the copyright strike guy got fired. He was more scared when Brandi got a hold of him

Unless there’s a bias of not wanting to pull Botchamania compared to other stuff, that seems mighty fishy to me considering what we know.

Yeah, maybe that email is not authentic as it definitely reads a little fishy. I mean saying “fair use does not apply to AEW” is pretty egregiously false, although perhaps it didn’t apply to the video that caused the takedown.

That looks like a totally legit email address, particularly in a situation such as this.

I have it on good authority that email belongs to a Nigerian prince.
No, not Apollo Crews.

The e-mail address doesn't look too suspicious - it has the correct "allelitewrestling.com" domain name, and a lot of automated customer service e-mails have similarly generic names. But leaving the display name as "AEW Hello" instead of, like, "AEW Customer Service," is noticeably weird. ...wouldn't be surprised if it's the same kind of laziness that their Youtube video titles have.

Wasn't there a situation a couple of years ago where Warner Bros used bots to DMCA strike people using clips from its movies and accidentally struck their own videos?

Yo me it has to be YouTube. Maffew contacted them last weekend and they worked with him it get it fixed, I think Maffew even said they were very nice about the whole thing.

Also, I’d imagine it also be a TNT and WarnerMedia issue as well. I’d imagine they hold the footage rights as well and they are much much bigger companies than AEW.

This is definitely on Youtube. Their system is horrible and you see this happen well outside of the wrestling circle
AEW has zero reason to do this when they JUST worked with Maffew on resolving other strikes that happened both to Maffew and AEW themselves around the same time.
Why would AEW go out of their way to flag their own shit? I swear some people really put their tinfoil hats on for wrestling companies when shit like this goes down.

And for the record, if they did it, they should own up to it (and not by email that could easily be photoshopped in the same way tweets can be).
But as people pointed out, there are way more cases across many companies in many industries of it being YouTube’s fault than it is individual companies. As an example, ViacomCBS apparently blocked a group of Charmed retrospectives Allison Pregler had done for years until one day, they just…unblocked everything out of the blue and she could make money from them again.
