The only time I've seen AEW personally go after people were those who were pirating PPV footage and uploading it to Youtube under the guise of a "review." Maffew has even worked with AEW and higher ups in the company in the past, so I doubt they specifically targeted Botchamania.
But I think this is a far reaching bot that companies use all too often to abuse Youtube's horrible copyright policies, and the sort WB themselves have used in the past. Whether Warner/TNT or AEW themselves that's responsible for deploying the bot, it's more a symptom of the wider issue of how easy it is to exploit Youtube's policies that blatantly favor massive corporations over small content producers.

The OSW guys know him personally so I would take their word over anyone else's when it comes to this.

Two of the three strikes that took down his account were already retracted by AEW. It's on Youtube's automated systems and the timing of this third strike that shut the account down when it should've stayed up with only this latest strike needing to be resolved.

Well look at that. Maffew said it was indeed a Youtube issue.

Why do people have to jump to defend AEW every single time there is a hint of criticism? If the strikes were from WWE no one would use this defense.

Because, and this needs to be said again, it’s happened across many different sectors to many different companies because YouTube is shitty with this stuff. I literally said an example involving ViacomCBS where an appeal was heard several years after they were placed.

The only defenses I have seen here are 2nd and 3rd hand information.

I'm glad his channel has been sorted (and hope that all the other smaller ones affected will be similarly helped). They really need to tell whoever's doing the copyright strikes whether at Turner or elsewhere to calm the hell down, though. This isn't a claim that'll cause a video to be demonetised/muted, this is destructive.

Because they're right and you're wrong? Yeah, you should look a few posts above your last one, chief.

If the strikes were from WWE no one would use this defense. Except it has happened and they have used before. Where do you think the strikes that closed Matthew channel before came from? You are saying an hypotheticla scenario that happened and happened exactly the opposite of what you said it would.

There is a literal psot from matthew,5 minutes ago, saying it is an youtube issue and AEW helped him Like c'mon dude. that is literal 1st hand

I actually agree with your take on AEW/WWE but in this instance you're wrong. Maffew said it was a YouTube thing a few minutes ago and it's over.

But it's probably only going to get worse as Youtube gets more in bed with major corporations at the expense of the smaller content producers. The one thing that really benefited Maffew here is that he had connections and an "in" with AEW through working with the likes of Cody and co. in the past. I have my doubts smaller content producers caught up in these strikes would get things resolved so quickly, if at all.
