Oof. That's certainly a name change. I thought she'd be big enough to keep her name but wwe seems to be wildly inconsistent with keeping names lately.

In a follow up to this, vignettes have starting airing on NXT UK for a mystery talent with this name... And a lot of the chat is that it will be revealed as the former Bea Priestley. I mean, with her history, Blair Davenport is likely the most suitable name.

And I was so certain this was gonna be Hideki Suzuki's new name in Diamond Mine

Thank god they finally decided to cash in on the obvious billion dollar gimmick: a wrestling couch FURNITURE PERSONA! They discussed it during the last investor call HHH: We are debuting a new character that is going to bring an interesting bit of sectionality to our ongoing storylines. Investor: You mean intersectionality? HHH: No, I mean the character is a sofa. They better be billed from The Ottoman Empire.

So, if it's Bea Priestley, this would make her the first person who was on an AEW contract to debut for WWE, right?

Disappointing. I wanted it to be a new female manager who dresses like one of the mean girls from Heathers.

I think I preferred when I thought it was gonna be one of Sahara's last drag children.

...Jeez, we make the joke about Timothy Thatcher being ratings poison in the US, I could only imagine how bad it is for him in the UK. Strangely, he did well for himself in the UK and Ireland. Hell, over here he was booked against Suzuki for OTT’s big stadium show. Also helps he’s American so we can likely excuse it as “hey, that’s a cool name and he’s a crazy mofo” rather than “hey, he’s associated with the woman who still stains British politics after death”. Did he ever wrestle ZSJ? That'd be a super fun promo

Could this mean that Tracy Havalina is going to work for NXT UK?

Okay so if I've got this straight we've decided the Blair Davenport gimmick is a high school bully bigoted drag queen businessman.
You've got a lot to live up to, Bea, but I'm sure you can make it work.

So... I'm the first one to say that sounds like a drag queen name? I was about to post the hard opposite; Blair Davenport sounds like someone who's going to call me and all my friends slurs If it actually turns out to be Bea Priestley then... we have a winner!

I read that in my head in "Dukes of Hazzard announcer voice" and if NXT UK is going to be in a studio for the time being regardless of the UK's status, I want this to be a thing for her.

Also a featured attraction of Progress and WXW as part of RINGKAMPF. I was never aware of his work in the US when I first saw him and just assumed he was British. Also saw him at Discovery Wrestling in Edinburgh. Beast of a man in person.
