Before yesterday, I would've pegged Damage Ctrl as a "safe option" in terms of taking the tag titles since Ronda is doing that reality show and won't be available for the foreseeable future and I'm not sure having Alba/Isla or Katana/Kayden debut and winning the title within less than a month before getting established would be the right decision(having them debut and lose immediately would definitely not be the right decision). Plus, dropping the tag belts would put them both back in the thick of the Raw Women's title picture again, which not gonna lie is severely lacking in terms of credible challengers for Rhea outside of Becky(who's busy with Trish) and Raquel and Liv. But now, you got Dakota upset with Bayley, IYO upset with both of them(but mostly Bayley) and Bayley trying to quell the unrest within the group. They already have their own storyline running, so it's not like they need the tag titles to remain prominent on TV. I think having Sonya and Chelsea lose that title match on TV a few weeks ago was a mistake. Having them be a filler challenger for Night of Champions to take an easy L would've been the way to go I feel in that would've bought them more time for the two new teams to get built up and Ronda returning. Instead it's looking like Damage CTRL get them despite being a cold act that looks ready to split or they hot shot them on one of the new teams before they get established or have one of the new teams lose right away which as you said would be a big mistake especially with Alba and Isla as they have characters that need to be protected and booked strong to be effective. After what happened at Backlash, I would have Dakota on the verge of victory about to go for the Kairopractor, only for Bayley to blind tag Dakota like she did on Raw(wanting the glory for herself) and have her go for the Rose Plant, only for Liv to counter into a rollup and pin Bayley. You can then have Cole on commentary call out Bayley, saying how Dakota was in control and how for the second time in less than a week, Bayley’s ego and selfishness has costed them the title. Which would further the divide between Bayley and her 2 charges, Dakota & IYO. |

I think having Sonya and Chelsea lose that title match on TV a few weeks ago was a mistake. You do not have to turn Dakota face atleast right now...her purpose right now should be stuck right in the middle of Bayley and IYO with both trying to sway her. Bayley trying sell Dakota on IYO being selfish and how it was Bayley who brought Dakota back after the company fired her etc. On the other end you can have IYO sway her by pointing out her own growing success now by getting out from Bayley (doubley so if she wins MITB) and talk up their NXT history. And during all of this you have Bayley using Dakota as her shield to fight IYO untill one loss too many finally sets Bayley off and turns on Dakota (IYO has already finished this feud and is off into the title pictureby this point) and this is where you turn Dakota full babyface. You can't turn them both at the same time because while I really like Dakota she is just going to get completely overshadowed by IYO so IMO it is better to split them off at different points and right now it is IYO's chapter of this story. |

Because they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of finding challengers for Rhea Ripley. And those two are desperately needed in the singles ranks. |

They need Raquel/Liv back into the singles ranks pronto because they're just scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of challengers for Rhea right now with Natalya. On the otherhand, you don't want to put the titles on either one of those two before getting established first. And having them challenge and lose off the bat is not a feasible option right now. I reckon they were suppose to have a short run and then drop it to Ronda/Shayna, but between Ronda's injury and her signing on for that reality show, those plans might have been altered. |

Bayley's probably going to screw things up somewhere and end up costing Damage Ctrl the titles. The story being that Bayley has ruined the title hopes for both IYO and Dakota in the same week, furthering the dissension within the group. And with Ronda gone for the foreseeable future, Sonya/Chelsea are really the only viable Heel tag team they got. They'll then drop it to either Katana/Kayden or The Way who'll then be fed to Ronda/shayna when they return later this year. |

I would much prefer Isla/Alba to be the heel team who beats Katana/Kayden or The Way and become the "Final Bosses" of the division but your probably right in that they'll go with Ronda/Shayna. Mainly just as a way to keep Ronda happy. And also because that was likely the original plan before Ronda's injury forced them change course. |

Afterwards Liv could challenge Rhea for WWE championship and fail. Maybe tag with recently (hopefully) returned Alexa. Win the Rumble. Challenge Bianca for WWE championship at WM and succeed! |
