I’ve not been paying much attention. How are deciding a new world champ? We’re Okada and Shingo ranked one and two or was there a qualifier of some kind?

Kazuchika Okada vs. Shingo Takagi Okada already had a title shot lined up, and Shingo beat him earlier this year, and only just lost to Ospreay in a very competitive match for the title.

I’d also imagine the Cobb/Ibushi winner has the next shot

Speaking on the Junior title match, I would like to see YOH with the upset but I expect a hard fight and a Desperado W
I can see them having him hold the title for a min. Or at the very least if he losses the title he will get it back with Hiromu probably winning the BOSJ again and getting his title back at WK
Tho i'm hoping Hiromu comes back and digs into the NEVER title

Granted, not like Hiromu *has* to become a heavyweight to win an openweight title, obviously, but it'd bookend their rivalry nicely if Despy gets one over on him like that. It's not like Takahashi's credibility or popularity would be in question, after all.

I wouldn't say moving Hiromu to NEVER would be a permanent move tho but I get your point with Despy getting a W If anything it would be a test which Hiromu short of got last year during the start of the pandemic. He'd probably win the NEVER title as a test run like Will did before going back to Junior for a while and then officially moving up to HW. He has the popularity and credibility to do so but without the U.S. title there and IC title being gone, it does put him behind the 8 ball too

Looks like one of the wrestlers Nagata trained has made the Japanese Olympic team and won his weight class in the trials.

Not shocking, given the Bucks love Lio Rush and are big fans of his, and the commentary brought up his NJPW connection, so not sure if we should read anything into that or not.

Needless to say, that jolted me out of my sleep. Then I realized you meant Lio. Oh darn, it's a about Lio? Also thought it was about Rush. That does take my enthusiasm down a peg or two (nothing against Lio, but El Toro Blanco is way more the kind of wrestler I want to see in New Japan, even if he was there before)
