Dynamite
March 3, 2021
LIVE from Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan
The show opens with still highlights from Revolution, set to “Rebellion” by Linkin Park. We then go to the Dynamite intro, but instead of the usual after-intro pyro, the theme to “Being the Elite” plays. Don Callis comes out on stage to a rousing chorus of boos, followed by the Good Brothers. Callis mock thanks the crowd, waves and takes a bow.
“Thank you, troglodytes of Grand Rapids for that wonderful response. The Elite had a successful night last Saturday at Revolution...well, most of them did.” He looks at Gallows and Anderson, who look around the arena. “But that's ok, that's ok. Only up from here, right guys?” Gallows and Anderson smile and 2 Sweet one another, then all 3 make their way to the ring.
“Now, ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome the hottest, the best, the most successful group of wrestlers in the world today, the Elite! First, she successfully defended the AEW Women's World Championship, decisively defeating Daria Deville. She is the reigning Impact Wrestling Women's Champion and the untouchable AEW Women's World Champion, the Elite Virtuosa, Deonna Purrazzo!”
Purrazzo makes her entrance and gets a shot of sparkle pyro. She mockingly does the Royal Wave down the ramp as Callis continues.
“Next, they retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship when they overcame two of the best in all of the world, PAC and Rey Fenix. They are the best damn tag team in the world today, and the best brother tag team of all time! The AEW World Tag Team Champions, Nick Jackson, Matt Jackson, the Young Bucks!”
The Bucks do their pose on the ramp and get their usual pyro display before also entering the ring.
“And last but by no means least, he successfully defended not one, but two of his FOUR – yes, FOUR – World titles when he pinned Penta at Revolution. He hails from the wrestling capital of the world, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is the current Impact Wrestling Champion! He is the current TNA Champion! He is STILL the AAA Mega Champion, and he is THE AEW World Heavyweight Champion. He is KENNY BY GOD OMEGA!!!!!!!!”
Omega makes his entrance wearing the AEW title on his waist and the AAA Mega title on his shoulder, and is followed by Michael Nakazawa carrying the Impact Wrestling and TNA titles, but there is no pyro. He confidently strides to the ring and gets in, doing his gun taunt, then the entire group stands in the center of the ring. Callis continues.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, never before have we witnessed a collection of men and women of this caliber! Never before have YOU been braced by the presence of so much gold! They are the top of the food chain! They are the best in the business. They are THE ELITE!”
The Good Brothers, Bucks, and Omega do the 2 Sweet, and Nakazawa picks Purrazzo up so she can reach them. When their hands touch, a massive pyro display takes place. Explosions, sparklers, smoke cannons, and confetti shoot from the stage and balloons fall from the arena roof. Some of the crowd cheers but it is heavy boos. Callis hands Matt Jackson the microphone.
“Last Saturday at Revolution, we showed once again why we are the best in the business. We're so damn good that we're naming the next Pay Per View after our own YouTube show! So fork over your money, marks, on Saturday March 20 and watch us do what we do best at Being...the Elite. The the Elite.”
As the rest of the group joins in the sing along, “Wild Thing” hits. The crowd comes unglued as Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Sami Callihan make their way through from the front door. Switchblade Conspiracy hits the ring and the Elite hit the bricks. Callihan takes the mic first. He says in case you haven't noticed, The Elite aren't the only ones with gold in AEW, and he takes off his Six-Man Title and holds it in the air and the crowd cheers. This is good but they want more gold. Eddie Kingston takes the microphone. He says boy, Callis, you love to run your mouth, but so does he. There's one thing he loves even more than running his mouth and that's throwing fists. So they challenge the Bucks & Omega to a six-man tag team match tonight and if the Switchblade Conspiracy wins, they want title shots against the Bucks and Omega at Being the Elite.
“Woah woah woah!” Omega says and looks at Callis. “Don, we just did this whole act last month with Death Triangle. I guess we can do it again, but this time we want something in return. So when, not if but WHEN, we beat you, we get a title match at BTE. It won't be for our belts, it will be for yours.
So you're on! You guys versus the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in the main event. We'll call it...the...the Champions Carinval!”
Mox has the microphone now, he says he's got the gift for gab too, so it's his turn to flap his yap. He says they accept. So they're all busy but...hey, Deonna! Deonna, you're not being left out. We ran into someone in the back who has a bone to pick with you. Daria Deville comes out and walks right through the Elite. Daria takes the microphone and says she saw the tape from Saturday at Revolution. She saw Deonna, the fighting champion, had to hold the ropes to beat her, and she wants a rematch at Being the Elite. This time, pinfalls aren't necessary. Defend the AEW Women's Championship against me, in a submission match! Callis is irate, but Omega and Purrazzo calm him down. Purrazzo says something in Callis' ear, and Callis says that Deonna has a great idea. She accepts Daria's rematch, but she has to earn it. EVP's how about we add some girl power to your match. So now, the main event is an 8-person match!

Hangman Page (c) vs. Dustin Rhodes
Rhodes gets a nice ovation from the crowd, but the place comes unglued at the entrance of the Hangman. At the bell, Rhodes extends his hand to Page, who is uneasy but shakes hands with him. No dirty stuff as they start with a lockup. Rhodes is wrestling at the pace of a man half his age. It is a stiff, hard-hitting affair from both sides. Page tries to outpace Rhodes, but the veteran keeps up, and gets the advantage with a snap powerslam for a 2-count. Dustin applies a rear chinlock and slows the match down. The crowd buzzes when members of the Dark Order walk out on stage, led by Evil Uno. Seconds later, the Nightmare Family members come to the stage, led by Cody Rhodes. Cody and Uno go face-to-face, but it is civil. Back in the ring, Rhodes hits a snapmare on Page and once again locks in the rear chinlock. Both stables inch ahead of the other down the ramp and before long are surrounding the ring. Each stable is pounding on the mat, cheering on their man. Dark Order leads the crowd in a “COWBOY SHIT!” chant and Hangman gets to his feet and Rhodes moves to a side headlock. 3 elbows to the stomach and Hangman shoots Rhodes to the ropes. Rhodes goes for a hip attack but Hangman avoids the attack and catches in a waistlock on the way down and hits a German suplex. Hangman whips Rhodes into the corner and charges. Rhodes jumps to the second rope and Hangman goes shoulder first into the post. Rhodes signals for the Destroyer, but when he jumps, Hangman blocks it and powers Rhodes up and plants him with the Deadeye, then follows with a Buckshot Lariat for the 3 count.
WINNER: Hangman Page
After the match, both groups get in the ring. Dark Order celebrates with Hangman while Nightmare Family tend to Dustin. There is a faceoff of the two groups, before Hangman and Cody Rhodes each step to the middle of the ring. They're both talkig ot each other as Excalibur notes their history with the Bullet Club and the Elite. Cody extends his hand and Page shakes it. Both squads shake hands with the other when we hear “THAT'S ENOUGH OF THIS LOVEY-DOVEY BULLSHIT!”
QT Marshall and the Factory come out and walk right in between both groups. Before QT can say a word, Cody cold-cocks him and Dark Order and the Nightmare Family dispose of the Factory as we go to break.
The Factory (QT Marshall, Aaron Solow, Nick Comorato & Anthony Ogogo) vs. Billy & Austin Gunn and Dark Order's 5 & 10
We come from break with the match in progress. Excalibur says that during the break, Tony Khan ordered this match to take place. Tags are aplenty early on, until Comorato and 10 come face-to-face and the crowd buzzes. The two powerhouses trade blows until Comorato gets 10 up for a press slam. Ogogo is tagged in but is met with a Pounce from 10, who gets up and lets out a ferocious roar, before being chop blocked from behind by Comorato. It's bedlam as all 8 men are in the ring. The ring is cleared except for Alan “5” Angels. 5 goes for a dive but as he runs to the ropes, Ogogo slides in and punches him right in the stomach and gets the 3 count. The Factory celebrates in the ring as we go to the back.
WINNERS: The Factory
We go backstage to Dasha, who is with Best Friends, Kris Statlander and Orange Cassidy. Chuck and Trent say they are sore from their win over Good Brothers on Sunday, but they need to keep the momentum up and tonight they will do just that when they beat FTR. Trent wonders what FTR stands for. Cassidy asks who FTR is. The other 3 look at him dumbfounded. Statlander says “Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. You know them!” Cassidy says he calls them Dax and Cash. What does FTR have to do with it? Trent says “it's their name. Like we're Best Friends.” Cassidy asks “Best Friends? Who are they?” Trent and Chuck look at him in amazement and walk off. Statlander shakes her head, boops Orange on the nose and follows.
Dasha sends it over to Alex Marvez, who is standing by with Wardlow. Marvez begins to ask Wardlow about his match against MJF this past Saturday when Wardlow rips the microphone out of his hand. Wardlow looks directly into the camera.
“MJF, mark my words. We are not done. I'm coming for you. But right now, Shawn Spears, I've got you in my crosshairs. We all know MJF can't beat me clean by himself, and you proved it on Saturday. It took 3 of you to do it. MJF, by the time I get to you, it will be just me and you. If I have to run through all of the Pinnacle one-by-one, that's what I'll do. MJF, this. Is . War.”
Right then, Best Friends walk through the shot. “hey, Wardog” Chuck says. Trent pats him on the shoulder. Statlander boops his nose. Cassidy stops, runs his hand through his own hair, and gives Wardlow a half-hearted thumbs up. Wardlow looks at Marvez, then walks after them.
Death Triangle vs. Hardy Party
PAC and Matt Hardy start off, and Matt hits a Side Effect early and goes for the Twist of Fate, but PAC is able to escape. From there, the match is largely a show-off of spots between Private Party and the Lucha Brothers. After Hardy is disposed of with a double superkick from Fenix and Penta, and the same fate befalls Marq Quen, Isaiah Kassidy falls victim to the Pentagon Driver, a Fenix springboard 450, and the Black Arrow to give Death Triangle the win.
WINNERS: Death Triangle
The Pinnacle make their way to the ring, as Jim Ross runs down the nefarious means by which MJF beat Wardlow at Revolution, after a vicious chairshot from Shawn Spears. MJF takes the microphone and runs down Wardlow. After being with MJF for so long and being in the Pinnacle, Wardlow should have realized he needs eyes in the back of his head, because the Salt of the Earth always has protection. Spears holds his dented chair up and laughs. MJF begins his catchphrase, but Wardlow's theme “There's Going to Be a War” plays and the Wardog comes to the stage.
“MJF, like I said earlier, I'm coming for you, but right now, it's about me and Spears. I want his ass, and I want it tonight!” The crowd roars with approval, but MJF has that all-too-familiar smirk on his face.
“Woah, woah, woah, Wardog!” MJF says, mockingly. “You are so gullible and predictable. Let me state how this is going to go. This is the part where you rush the ring, and we beat your ass, then Spears takes your head off with the chair, because you have no friends. No allies. No one to watch your back. You alienated the only people in AEW that could do that for you. I'll tell you what. I can't wait, FTR can't wait, and Spears can't wait, to beat the tar out of you, then all laugh as Spears takes your head off with that chair. But we're gonna drag it out and make you fear your demise, Wardlow. So I'll tell you what. We all talked and you can have your match with Spears. BUT...it won't be that simple. Oh, no. Why would we make it easy? Next week, you have to face one of the best tag teams in the world, FTR. Even you, you big lug, wouldn't be able to do that alone. So in the unlikely event that you can find someone in the locker room that would be dumb enough to do it, you can pick your partner. In the event that it somehow happens that you can get by Dax and Cash, which you won't, in 2 weeks on Dynamite, it's Wardlow vs. Shawn Spears! Not only will chairs be allowed, they're encouraged. Then if somehow, some way Wardlowm you can withstand that barrage, I suppose I will have to give you a rematch against me at Being the Elite.”
Wardlow says that's fine, but he wants to get himself some right now and drops the mic. MJF laughs and says “I told you once, even a big, strong guy like you is no match for the Pinnacle. Come on, let's get this over with.”
Wardlow starts to walk forward, then stops. He picks up the microphone and says he knows now that he never belonged in the Pinnacle, but MJF is dead wrong about one thing. Since he's been out of the Pinnacle, he's found some friends. “Where is My Mind?” plays, and Chuck Taylor, Trent and Orange Cassidy come out and surround Wardlow. We go to break with Excalibur telling us that FTR face Best Friends, and it's next!
FTR w/ Tully Blanchard vs. Best Friends
Back from break, we are informed that Orange Cassidy, Wardlow and the rest of the Pinnacle have been ordered to the back. Excalibur is putting over the beating that Best Friends took, in victory, from Good Brothers at Revolution and JR says while you want to ride the wave of momentum, is it really wise to have a match just days later, and against a team like FTR? Best Friends give it their all, but FTR and their quick tag team offense is too much for them. The end comes when Chuck Taylor falls victim to the Goodnight Express, giving FTR the win. Schiavone says that Wardlow's new friends tried, but FTR got the victory heading into next week. Following the match, FTR mockingly do the “Got to Give the People What They Want” hug, then mug for the camera with the Pinnacle salute.
WINNERS: FTR
We go backstage once again to Alex Marvez, who welcomes Lance Archer and Jake “the Snake” Roberts. Marvez says after that win in a brutal bullrope match over Dustin Rhodes, where does Archer go? Roberts says that when you're a monster, you need to eat, and move up the food chain. Rhodes, he was a good meal, but the Murderhawk Monster is still hungry. He's a lion, and he sees his pray at the watering hole, and that pray holds the TNT Championship. Miro, it's feeding time.
We cut to a video of a long, straight road through a desert terrain. It has the feel of a Darby Allin vignette, but instead of the familiar convertible, we close in on an approaching Chevrolet Suburban. The camera cuts to pan the backseat where we see Santana and Ortiz. In the middle row is Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager is the driver, and riding shotgun is Chris Jericho. The camera closes in on Jericho who simply says “Stinger. Being the Elite. It's Showtime” and the camera goes back to the sky as the car drives off into the distance and the camera fades out.
Champions Carnival
The Elite (Kenny Omega, Deonna Purrazzo & the Young Bucks) vs. Switchblade Conspiracy & Daria Deville
Following a prolonged introduction of all the participants, we see some great exchanges and quick tags, and slows down when Purrazzo and Deville tag in. As they start to circle one another, Purrazzo runs back to her corner and tags Matt Jackson in. Matt smugly circles Deville then goes for a lockup. Deville shoots in with an ankle pick and transitions right into the Kimura lock. Jackson tries to roll free but Deville keeps her grip and rolls with him. Jackson is able to get to the ropes and Deville releases the hold before the 5 count. Switchblade Conspiracy look impressed in the corner. Deville welcomes Jackson to step back to the center of the ring, but he tags in Omega. Purrazzo backs to her corner and tags in Moxley. The crowd buzzes as the two lock horns. They tussle in the ring before quickly taking things to the floor. Moxley is cognizant of the referee's count, as JR notes he has to be, or his team will lose via countout. The match is a barnburner and for 25 minutes, the Elite constantly get the advantage but make a mistake to allow a tag, or the Switchblade team goes for a cover and it is interrupted by an Elite member. It comes around to Matt Jackson and Deville once again being the legal members of the match. Purrazzo charges at Deville, who sends Purrazzo through the ropes to the outside. Omega and Matt Jackson line Deville up for stereo Superkicks, but Moxley and Kingston intervene. Mox hits a Cactus clothesline on Omega, sending both men to the outside. Matt superkicks Kingston instead of Deville, sending him through the ropes and to the floor. The Bucks get Deville in position for the Meltzer Driver, but Nick is pulled off the apron by Moxley to the floor. Matt drops Deville and Callihan spins him around for a double underhook piledriver, and gets Matt back to his feet for Deville to hit the Square-Up kick and cover Matt for the victory for her and Switchblade Conspiracy. We go off the air with the Elite in shambles on the outside and the victors celebrating in the ring.
WINNERS: Switchblade Conspiracy & Daria Deville
