Who’s someone you didn’t realize was in a major promotion as long as they were? I have a few… Ed Leslie I had no idea he was in wcw until October 99, I’ve train was there until the end of wcw he was there from 93 until 2001 he has to be some type of record for continuous employment there lol, Chris adams was there also until November 99. As for the wwf I didn’t realize Sam Houston was there into 91 and Virgil was there into summer 1994.

It never ceases to be strange to me to watch episodes of Nitro from like 1996-1998 and see Greg Valentine randomly pop up every once in a blue moon.

I always forget that Val Venis stuck around in WWE until the late 2000s. Like, I always think that his stuff he did under his real name in like 2003ish was the last time he was in WWE outside of random appearances.
Also, I never watched much WCW so it trips me out that Paul Orndorff was still wrestling in like 1999. I always picture him as an 80s WWF guy only.

Like, he was just a regular wrestler wearing some green trunks, but he still had the porn star music. And he would only ever wrestle on the online shows at the time. D’lo Brown’s cup of coffee in a similar role that same year also fits this bill. And Hacksaw Jim Duggan’s run as a semi-regular on Heat. 2008-2009 was a wild year in the WWE undercard.

Mark Henry was in the WWF/E for 25 years and while he's recognized as a legend and Hall of Famer NOW as well as overall nice guy, for a good portion of his career(like almost the entirety of the 2000s) he didn't do much and was barely on TV, mainly due to injuries and improving his conditioning and wrestling skills in OVW.
In fact his original lasted until 2006 and they were trying to get him to quit with humiliating storylines such as his sexual misadventures with making out with a transvestite and sleeping with Mae Young. It didn't work and he stuck it out(pardon the pun). He then renewed his contract(which I was surprised that he was given that option) when it expired and he was getting failed push after failed push as a generic angry big man until something clicked in 2008 when he won the ECW championship.
Ironically enough, he finally got over with the fans(at least the first time since his "Sexual Chocolate" days) in 2009, and beat then WWE champion Randy Orton and the company pretty much ignored those reactions DESPITE BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THE VOLUME OF THEM BY WAVING HIS HANDS IN THE AIR.
He was eventually cooled down throughout 2009 and 2010, but his big break came during his Hall of Pain run which culminated in him winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Randy Orton(this time with the face/heel roles reversed) and held it for three months.
He then went on to be a respected veteran in the business before quietly bowing out(at least in ring) in 2017 and while becoming a backstage producer with a match here and there.
If there's anybody who personifies perseverance, its the World Strongest Man. He could've easily and quietly left the scene in 2006 and became a footnote in wrestling history, but he had far more patience than most guys in his position would to the point where he got a "thank you" World title reign for sticking around as long as he has.
So yeah TL;DR that would be my answer.

Ah, yeah, I remember seeing D'lo Brown on an episode of Raw in like 2007 or 2008, and getting so excited because he was back, then I never saw him on TV again rofl.

The Godwinns were still around in 1998! Now why would you do such a rotten thing like reminding everybody about that?

Was Ice Train's WCW run really uninterrupted from 1993 forward? I thought he left in 1997 and returned in 2000.

Scotty 2 Hotty was around in the WWF/E from 1997 to 2007. All things considered even after Too Cool broke up, he was still around for quite awhile.
He's now back in WWE as a trainer in the PC so he kinda turned into a lifer.

Pete Sanchez was an enhancement guy who started in Capitol Wrestling as a tag partner for a young Pedro Morales in 1963.
He stuck around until 1992.

The Bushwhackers stuck around the WWF until 1996 The Bushwhackers worked the same show as the Curtain Call. Wow, as punishment WWF could have given Triple H's planned King of the Ring win to Stone Cold one of the Bushwhackers. "Luke 3.16 says I just licked your head... TELL YOUR BLOODY MOTHER"

Someone had a thread here a few months ago with clips of WWF President Gorilla Monsoon doing commentary in 1999 on the international version of Superstars. That blew my mind.
